We are a musical family (traditional/folk) living in a village in the beautiful countryside of the South Hams. We have dogs, hens, ducks, a Dartmoor pony and a young Spanish horse. We are a few miles from beautiful beaches and surrounded by rolling Devon hills. There is good surfing in the area. The local town has all amenities and is a short drive away, or bus journey, or a 20 minute cycle ride. In the village we have a good shop and a great pub, just a short walk away. This is lovely country for those enjoying outdoor life / walking / water sports.

We would love to have someone stay who can help with various tasks and who would ideally have experience of garden work. There is always loads of gardening to do! We hope to build a polytunnel from recycled materials which we have started collecting. We would like to set up a rain water harvesting system. We also need help with paddock maintenance and mucking out, fixing things, building things, interior painting/decorating, help with the hens and horses, some housework and other general help. Possibly help with computer and building our website - although this is way down the list. Approx 20/25 hours work a week on a flexible basis to suit all. Currently we could really do with a mini digger operator for a small landscaping project.

We have space for one volunteer. Sorry, but currently we cannot accommodate more than one.
All volunteers must have their own insurance.
If interested there is opportunity for you to learn about handling /training horses with natural horsemanship methods, and horse agility, as well as general horse handling / care / stable management.
We would especially welcome musicians/ music lovers and hope you would enjoy coming with us to regular local pub music sessions.
We also appreciate our guests understanding that we may want to have quiet times to ourselves at times.
We are 3 miles from Kingsbridge and there is a limited bus service, hourly through the day, other than that you will need to walk, cycle or have other form of own transport if you want to get out and about independently. We can lend you a bike and we can offer a lift some of the time.
In Kingsbridge you can hire a kayak or go paddle boarding; there is surfing 15 mins by car; other water sports; great walking (coast path 4 miles); boat hire. Kingsbridge offers cafes, pubs, a wonderful small cinema, a nightclub, market twice weekly.
As well as the volunteering work agreed, we do expect our volunteers to muck in with everyday household tasks like washing up, cleaning up after themselves etc.
WE ARE HAPPY TO HAVE SOMEONE FOR A LONGER STAY IF WE ALL GET ON OK! COULD EASILY NEGOTIATE HOURS AROUND A PART TIME JOB.
