Help on a Normandy Dairy Farm and B&B
Description
Hi,
We're a French/English family from Normandy and we're looking for a physically fit, motivated volunteer with a strong work ethic who can come anytime from March onwards and and stay with us ideally for a couple of months to help with various jobs around our home and garden.
We're looking for someone who is 'hands-on' and happy to work outside. Ideally, you'll have some experience in the following areas and an interest to learn more:
- painting and decorating
- fencing
- gardening (rotavating, digging, pruning, weeding, planting, lawn work)
Life is very busy and varied here on our dairy farm/B&B. You'll need to be fairly fit, not mind getting dirty or being outside and have a good sense of humour. If you like meeting people (we have lots of clients from all over the world in our B&B) and have a willing disposition, you'll fit in well. We have plenty of outdoors work to do this spring/summer, including painting lots of window/doors, gardening, fencing and general maintenance. We are looking for someone who does not watch the clock and is happy in a work-orientated, positive, 'go-getting' environment and who likes to unwind simply, with a nice meal and a glass of wine at the end of the day.
In return for your help, we'll look after you as one of the family. You'll have a comfortable bedroom with your own bathroom, with free WiFi access and great food. You must be able to live in a busy, noisy household with children (5, 8 and 10), three cats and a crazy little dog!
The dairy farm is our main business and if you are interested, there is the opportunity to learn about this too.
Sorry, but we are unable to cater for special diets as we produce and eat our own meat, poultry and dairy produce. We do not allow smoking in the house or buildings. Other than that, we are easy to get along with and like meeting people and sharing stories.
We look forward to hearing from you.

This family is very friendly. Stepfan is the Great Man of 100 percent. He has much to teach (great father and a farmer). Very good people. Kids fun and funny. Fredy future Mohamed Ali. Kate's a good kind woman and her food is just super. I spent two weeks in the family. I worked on a farm with Stephan. You can go to visit them do not be afraid. more
I spent 6 weeks with the Le Moigne family in the Spring of 2010, and I had a lovely time. The whole family made me feel very much at home, and in the few spare minutes that we had, Kate was wonderful to talk to. It's a busy but vibrant place to work; there's always something to be doing. I was able to help on a diverse range of projects - more
We spent very lovely ten days staying and working with the Le Moigne family. Everyone was very welcoming and we felt comfortable straight away. We did a variety of jobs from pruning roses, helping with renovations, painting and odd jobs around the dairy. We had some great conversations with the family over Kate's delicious meals. This was our more
I stayed here for almost 3 weeks and really enjoyed my time there. Wonderful house and location, great kids and lovely, generous people. I worked in the garden, prepared for redecorating inside, with the animals, helping in the B&B and milking the cows on the farm. Enjoyed learning about the farm, the history of the house and local area and more
Adam was very helpful, polite, tidy and hard working during his stay with us. He fitted in to our mad life and we enjoyed having him around. He would be welcome to come back any time.
I can't say enough about the graciousness and hospitality of these wonderful people. Stephane and Kate make you feel right at home; comfortable and well fed and involved in the everyday farm life. They go out of their way on the regular to make sure that your stay there is a great one, and for that I'll always remember this experience as one of my more

I spent two weeks on the farm (I helped painting) and I had a great time. The family is very nice, busy household, amazing food, useful work and a beautiful sourrouning area to explore. Recommended to everyone.
A really lovely family to stay with. The work is hard but varied, interesting and enjoyable. An overall great experience strongly recommended to anyone looking to spend time in such a beautiful part of the world.
Franz stayed on our farm in Normandy from mid- October to the end of December 2009 and was very helpful, hard working, quiet and polite. He always did the jobs he was asked to do (for us, it was lots of painting) and was a pleasant person to have staying with our family. We would recommend him as a reliable Workaway-er.
