    Description

Hallo friends from around the world,
I am Tania and live together with my family in main land of Greece. I came back here after traveling and living in other countries ,like the Netherlands, Tsechoslovakia, for shorter time in Nepal, India, Australia and few more.
The point is that for me it became necessary to settle somewhere... and

Paiko Mountain in central Macedonia in Greece is the right place. It feels living completely in the nature but the culture is just around the corner. Thessaloniki, the international airport and the Aegean sea is an hour drive from Goumenissa. And at the same time our 'homeland' is seemingly lost in the mountains.

    !!! 2017...
-- Last April I have had an operation.

And in the meantime It is already November and I have been through a second operation.
Hopefully the very last one! So, at the moment things are still the same...I do nead help around the hous. Outside it is cold so there will be more activity with pruning sometime in February.

I am exited to be strong and very healthy again to start grate activities with volunteers...I'm hoping for this spring time when the garden will wake up and the hills will get full of herbs.

Love and greetings from beautiful Goumenissa my dear friends travelers.

    2012...
After ten years of easy going and family creating, Antonis and I feel that we should open our doors and share that what we most appreciate, "Life in nature"...

I believe that sometimes in our life we need to stop for a while and reconsider... so to appreciate even more that what we already have accomplished or to find the positive energy to start afresh .

What is most important probably to know about us is that...Antonis and I are in Love with MOUNT PAIKO, each one of us for our own reason. To dwell and exist here is a blessing.

It would make it possibly even better if people could come together here and learn and teach things to each other...like...Permaculture, General Gardening, Self-Sustainability , Meditation, Conscious Positive Thinking, Herbaling, and more kinds of 'Human Living'. I would for example love to have families with children coming over, to collect aubergines and peppers to bake them on open fire as we use to do, peal them put them in jars in oil and take them back home. While the children could participate and play around. Or to go out all together to collect seasonal herbs or wild green salads.Or in May collect cherries to make a jam or dry for the winter. Especially Greek people need to rediscover the value of there home land and the possibilities of living closer to nature. Things like permaculture do a lot of good, and there are young people that are questioning and searching for solutions. We wish to be a part of it...

    2014...
We had a ruff ride the last two years. Trying to reorganize things in our region. We are fighting to get rid of the companies that have ruined the Grape producing families...(one of is ours) here in this region. Things are much better at the moment but we have been distracted and are tired as a family and as persons.

So for now it is important just to keep going and reorganizing our plans.

If you come to help us you will stay with us in our family home in the village. You will be part of our family together with our 7 year old daughter and 12 year old sun. Will take you with us and we share with you what we have. You can help with the daily life. and the different short projects like for example , tho days cherries picking in June or two days olive picking in November or a week collecting and wind cleaning of beans in summer or in October...

    2016...
what is really positive, is that for the first time in Goumenissa we have made collaboration between grape growers what brought back the power to the land workers as we are.
It is almost a miracle with in the economical disaster in our land.
    We don't give up!
    .

Wish you all good travels and great experiences.
Greetings from Beautiful and 'aromatic' Greece,

    Tania and family.

Live with a Greek family at a daily base. Share our food , taste regional wines, come with us anywhere we go and have philosophical conversations about life and self improvement(if you like that).
We collect seasonally herbs that we know and use.
And we have done positive improvement in our region in sustaining economy and life for many families if that interest you we can talk about that to.
We cane talk about the value of travelling and communicating without knowing a language.
And for the rest all the practical things around gardens vineyards and living outside.
