Help teach in Peru, and improve peoples' lives!
Description
Because public education is significantly lacking in our community, and the majority of people here cannot afford private schooling by any means, many of them have very few job opportunities. Thus, they are born into poverty and few are ever able to rise out of it. Recognizing this cycle and its causes, we decided to broaden the horizons of our friends and neighbors by offering them an education in English. With the help of volunteers, we are able to offer children and adults alike this useful skill for FREE, and we hope to soon offer lessons in other areas such as computer technology.
Currently, we are collaborating with volunteers to achieve these goals – and we need your help to continue building this project and drastically improve the quality of life of some of the poorest people in the world.

I have just finished a five week stay here and it was without a doubt the most incredible experience of my life so far. Manuel and Luz were fantastic hosts and did their utmost to make me feel at home at all times.
I spent my time here working at the local school. I had three days a week helping out in high school English classes and two days more

I just spent 2 months at this place and had a great time! Manuel and Luz really welcomed me into their family, and made Trujillo feel like a home away from home.
I started out teaching 2 classes a day (5-8 year olds and 12-17 year olds) in the house over the summer and really loved this experience. It was very inspiring to see how these kids more

I strongly recommend this to anyone willing to give their time to a worthwhile cause. My 2 month stay here is coming to an end, and I only have good things to say about this place.
Luz and Manuel have been more than \'hosts\', they have been amazing friends, and for this I am grateful. They will welcome you to the home; just today we shared more

What a great experience. The kids are very sweet and they greet you with kisses. Luz and Manuel and their families are very welcoming and before long the volunteers and the peruvians become one big family. During our free time we took walks around La Esperanza, went to the beach at Huanchaco, did shopping downtown and small local markets. Some more
I had a great experience working in here. Teaching at the primary school was a challenge but a very rewarding one. The smaller classes were fun. I miss all the kids! They come from underprivileged backgrounds but are still so warm and friendly. Luz & Manuel were very welcoming hosts and it was interesting sharing their home and their culture for 2 more
To anyone interested in knowing the people of this country and love teaching will have a true experience with this organization.I have spent 2 months at Luz and Manuel s and was greeted as a family friend. The children are more than willing to learn and are very inteligent.I would suggest learning as much spanish as possibe so socializing and more
I cannot recommend this organisation enough. The work they do here is truly brilliant, helping the local community by teaching English. Working in the local school and here at the house is fun to do and also gives you a great experience. Being here combines language learning and improvement, with helping an exceedingly worthwhile cause, and what more
I had four really stellar weeks here. The organization is accustomed to hosting international travellers and providing them with scheduled, meaningful work. Expect to work with adorable but unruly children in a community that is less familiar with westerners.

I am departing from here in two hours and must say that I am truly sad to leave. I have not only felt a part of this organization, but also a part of the community- talking with the vendors at the local market, playing futbol with our students, and being subject to the sounds of roosters calking and dogs barking in the middle of the night. I will more
Volunteering here was a very good expeience that added alot to our travels. I came with my friend from home and we stayed for 5 weeks.
Come expecting to work hard. You work all day long (assuming all your students show up) with a break in the middle of the day for lunch. If you decide to partake, Estella makes amazing food and eating lunch more
