We are a friendly, family run smallholding and holiday business on a private island in the Gironde estuary, around 50km from Bordeaux.

Access to our island is by private motor boat and it is an extremely tranquil and idilic setting.

We have had workawayers stay with us for the last 5 years and usually have one or two staying throughout the spring and summer.

Medoc

We have sheep, pygmy goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats, all of whom need feeding and stroking every day! We also have 2 sons aged 4 and 6 so a bit of babysitting would be included.
Through April to June we need help gardening, planting out the veg plot, looking after the animals, doing maintenance / painting etc in the holiday cottages, mowing grass, cleaning the pool and getting the cottages ready for summer.
July and August it would be mainly gardening, looking after the animals, laundry/ironing of bed linen for the gites, the big clean and bed-change on guest changeover day and generally helping out with the boat.
In exchange we can offer a double room in our beautiful but rustic home on a private island and all the food/beer/wine you like.
