Description

Our small community is a not-for-profit social enterprise comprising a large family home, fruit and veggie gardens (organic), nine acre woodland and a cafe/farmshop. Amongst our aims is to provide volunteers from around the world with experience in various projects based on sustainable living principles. We're situated in the lovely village of Fettercairn between Aberdeen and Dundee just a few miles from the coast and close to some spectacular scenery. What Scotland lacks in good weather we Scots make up for in hospitality and friendship!

Work

Volunteers work 5 hours/day, five
days per week in return for good veggie food and comfortable accommodation
in converted stables. Lots of free time to explore magnificent
countryside. Bikes available. Range of skills needed:growing fruit and veg, small-scale forestry,
working in the cafe/farmshop, some cooking, helping out in the house from time to time. We especially need volunteers to work in the cafe/farmshop in autumn 2009 and winter 2009/2010

Languages spoken

English and a little French.

Accommodation

Single room or twin (shared) in house. Very hgh standard of accommodation.

What else ...

We seek to live as a community, respecting one another's need for space. We eat together, taking turns to do the cooking and washing up. We've only been going since March 2009 and are keen to explore new ideas based on sustainable living.
