An ecobuild project in the Scottish Highlands
Description
Hi there Workawayers,
We live together with our mad, 6 year old cocker spaniel Kim, in a beautiful wooded glen (valley) near a village called Spinningdale about 50 miles (80km) north of the city of Inverness in the Northern Scottish Highlands.
We have a 6 acre former croft, (a traditional small highland farmstead), which we are gradually developing as a permaculture site. We are surrounded by 1700 acres of stunning natural woodland belonging to a conservation body called The Woodland Trust. We are currently building an eco-house as our new family home.

Ideally we are looking for volunteers with some previous experience of building. We would particularly welcome anyone with relevant skills in carpentry, wood machining, floor laying, tiling, bricklaying, stone work, fencing, tree-planting, cooking or website design.
We will also consider volunteers without experience but wishing to learn about natural building.
We would particularly welcome couples.

I had a really nice time while at Jim and Jo's place. I was invited to come and do cooking for some volunteers who were staying for a couple of weeks. It is a beautiful spot and they are doing a fantastic job with the house.
Thanks a lot and hope to see you when I am back in the area.

Marion was a great volunteer. She cooked delicious meals and was very knowledgeable about wholefood and nutrition. She is also very jolly and cheerful. Our dog, Kim, fell in love with her and really enjoyed going with walks with her. Thanks again Marion.
