Emmanuelle and Celestin were a pleasure to host. They worked hard, in fact they offered to do more than required! They always helped in the kitchen. Emanuelle and I had a lot of fun baking with recipes from the Edmonds Cookbook and experimenting with gluten free flour. We planted the vegetable garden. Emanuelle did a great job of pruning the topiary. Celestin helped Alan with some difficult physical tasks. He learned to make concrete, construct a stone rockfall, trimmed hedges and set predator traps. We enjoyed their company greatly. We hope to meet up with them both again one day.

We had amazing time with Glenda and John and their family. They are clear and organised when giving tasks but also flexible. We did varied tasks including working in the gardens, orchard and bush and also cleaning and preparing meals. Their home is beautiful and our living space was so lovely. We were provided with great food and company. We feel part of their family and enjoyed playing cards and music with them. We experienced the market and Mulumbimby with them and some time in Byron bay. Highly recommend staying with them and hope to come back 😀

Es una persona muy educada y acogedora, siempre muy grata por el trabajo y siempre lista a compartir si tu quieres. En unos días nació de repente un amistad, y nos fuimos triste de quedarse solo una semana!

This review is far too short to describe what a great experience I had with this family. This was a my first workaway and I stayed for a month. I had a fantastic time. This family does everything to make you feel welcome. Since I met Chantelle I felt right at home and part of the family. I was outside a lot, surrounded by the horses. You could keep track of your own hours which provided flexibility and independence. Very nice! The work is active and can be tough at times, but this keeps you fit so was a plus for me. In my free time they took me to an ice hockey game and barrel race. We went on road trips, hikes and more. I was also given more than enough space to explore Salmon Arm. They have two lovely and friendly children. The horses and dogs are also very friendly and it was nice to be around them. 🥰 Chantelle, Mike, Ayla and Taylor thank you for everything! I'll miss you. ❤️ I had a fantastic month and recommend this workaway to everyone!

Zoe, is a dream guest. She is thoughtful, helpful, hardworking & clean. She helped me with the care of my elderly dog, painting & other house hold bits and bobs. Though I knew she just finished her interior architecture degree, I was pleasantly surprised how supportive she was regarding ideas for my space. She is an extremely professional, fun & passionate woman & any host will be lucky to have her stay. Thank you Zoe for being an absolute pleasure to host!

Lauren is a fun, bubbly, and intelligent young woman, and it was a pleasure to have hosted her for a couple of weeks. Our plans for van work were somewhat derailed during her stay due to bad weather and some admin challenges – but thanks to Lauren’s open-minded, sincere, probing intellect and her heartfelt desire to improve herself and those around her, we were able to spend the time very productively, and even managed to work together in a professional capacity! (she is a consummate and gifted marketing specialist!). Lauren will brighten the cloudiest of days, and inspires trust and openness wherever she goes. Keep on truckin’ girl – your future holds no bounds!

Amazing time in bella italia! We spent almost three weeks with Dominic and helped him with all kinds of tasks, in good weather in the garden (digging, cleaning, mowing, painting etc.) and in bad weather in the house (cleaning, sorting). The work was a lot of fun, we could divide it up as it suited, as long as everything was done at the end of the day. The work was never boring, which was also due to the supply of very tasty Italian food and Dominic, who has always motivated us. He is a very nice and humorous man with whom we enjoyed spending time, for example on one of the many movie nights or on a trip to the center of Lucca. The region is beautiful, we had a car with us which was very practical but not a must. So we were able to see many places in the area, Dominic also helped us to find the best destinations. We would therefore recommend Dominic at any time and will also come back again. Greetings, we wish you only the best and see you soon! Tanja is a super host. I stayed their for around 3 weeks in January 2024. I really enjoyed doing the gardening/landscaping at her property. The property has a nice garden where you can live out your love for gardening work and garden design. My working hours were flexible. My tasks were e.g.: • building a flower bed by recycling materials that Tanja had in her garden • building some natural stone walls and filling the areas with lots of fresh eucalyptus mulch. The eucalyptus oil smelled super nice. •Another project was taking out an existing wall of bricks in the garden to extend the area for more flowers and trees and rebuilding it • fixing up a fence… I had my own room and everything was very clean. It is a very central and safe location at the Goldcoast. Tanja is a very nice and helpful person. She can tell you a lot about the activities that you can do in the area. We went to a nice botanical garden to meet Paul, a gardener with passion, who gave us a tour through the botanical garden. I am a huge fan of turtles and there were heaps of them. 🐢🐢🐢 On my very last day in Australia, we also went to a Koala farm, where she gifted me that I could hold a koala.🐨 Thank you so much for everything! Had a lovely stay at Eimer and Laoise's during April. Almost one out of the two weeks I was there it was unusually sunny and the weather enabled me to do some landscaping and overall enjoying of the garden and the wilderness that surrounds this place... there's a forest literally 10 meters away from the main house! The tasks to be done aren't difficult and you can choose what to do weather dependent, either indoors or outdoors. Fia is as good as gold: she loves fetching the ball and going for a walk. The cat most of the time is sleeping or nowhere to be seen. The host herself is very flexible and has been hosting volunteers from all walks of life. Providing you do your tasks and fulfill your hours you'll be given plenty of freedom, and maybe you'll be taken to some interesting places which might be nearby but that only the locals know ;) Needless to say there's gonna be Irish trad music sessions where Eimer will be performing at that you can attend. It should be noted the house is massive and very warm, and you are given a comfy private room with double bed. This might not sound like something to highlight for outsiders but wait until you come to Ireland and you'll see what the housing crisis is like.

I had an incredible three weeks at the Casablanca Downtown location!! If I could have stayed longer I would have in a heartbeat. I hope to come back some day soon!!:) Harim was so welcoming and went above and beyond to coordinate trips on our time off. The work itself was a ton of fun, engaging in diverse and meaningful conversations with a wide range of students (from young kids to older adults). I am so grateful for the time I spent with the academy, the friends I made living and going on trips with the other volunteers, and the overall rich cultural experience this workaway provided. Thank you for everything Harim! I hope to see you again soon.

Tim was our first experience with a workaway and we were blown away! Respectful, Kind, Hard Working and up for any task! Highly recommend to all hosts to create an opportunity for Tim as he pursues his travels around the world. We felt incredibly lucky to have had Tim help us with various projects, from deck maintenance, to garden building, planting, DIY projects around the house and even assisted in childcare ( without being asked). A true pleasure to have met Tim !

I had a wonderful experience with our host Matz, who is a very friendly and considerte person, and all the other volunteers at the museum. It was a beautiful place to stay, and I met very interesting people during my stay, made good friends. The work is as is mentioned in the profile, and not very heavy. Little Rock is also a nice and friendly town. Highly Recommended.

The time I spent here was beyond phenomenal. I had trouble adjusting at first since it was my first ever Workaway but Laura & her husband Andres were patient & understanding with me. Their knowledge of both gardening & forestry goes beyond what I could learn in just a short month. I really got to experience and learn so many new skills such as learning how to be a better cook, harvesting & planting produce/plants, making burn piles & a whole list of other things. I'd highly recommended them as a first ever host especially if you want to disconnect from the hustle & bustle of city life.

Annie stayed with us for a week. She was polite and punctual. No job was a problem. Annie helped me mainly in the garden, weeding and mulching, plus some fence staining and window cleaning. She made the most of her time off exploring the area. I enjoyed our conversations and wish her all the best on her travels. Highly recommend 👌

We enjoyed Estelle’s company very much and were impressed by her artistic talent! She contributed very well to the daily tasks here on the farm and always displayed a positive attitude, Estelle got along very well the my daughter and the other woofers. We wish her all the best with her studies in art, she will do very well!

This was my first experience through workaway and in a farm. Uncle Tim is such a great teacher, very clear and straight forward yet so loving and supportive. I was afraid at the beginning of making mistakes but he never made us feel we were doing something wrong. The work is different everyday (Mostly) and more of a mix between farming and building natural toilets and fences. I was so lucky because the group of volunteers were so cool and we had so much to do when we were not working, swam in the river, went to the village to get drinking water and food which was nice every time. If you are looking for a farming experience, away from the city this may be for you. I enjoyed so much because I got to read and talk and sing and meditate as well. Its amazing and I think nothing can describe it! Thank you uncle Tim, you are the best!

« Rating » this Workaway doesn’t make much sense for us as it was nowhere near any experiences we had. Of course it is a 5-star, but it is so much more… It was an encounter with a community we’ve loved and felt welcomed in, it was a connexion to nature that nurtured us, it was a life-changing experience that centered us back on the essential. We can’t be thankful enough to Jake, Melissa, their family and their friends for their open arms and desire to share. We felt good, we felt like a better version of ourselves, and we were happy and proud to help these wonderful people manage their dreamland. We miss every bit of it but feel incredibly lucky to carry in our hearts the souvenirs, the life-lessons and the friendships that bloomed there. If you have an open-heart, a curiosity to learn, and ideally a love for music nights, you might be a fit for this place :)
