Hello, I'm Mirei from Japan. I'm 21 years old.
I'm university student and majoring in development economics in Japan.
I've been living in Ireland on a working holiday since March 2024.
I'm taking a year off from university since March to get experience of life in Ireland or Irish culture.
I plan to stay in Ireland for one year.
I would like to make friends from different countries, experience various culture.
I'd be glad to understand their difference of values and live them in Ireland.

I love traveling. Traveling always gives me new discovery and makes me grow.
I traveled to 3 countries after entering the university and all experiences were very wonderful. I felt the warmth of the people, and I acquired the ability to act proactively as a foreigner myself.

I’m not particular about the type of work I do because I want to do a lot of different things in Ireland. I would be happy to do them. I’m interested in all things such as agriculture, babysitter, help with housework and study.

I love nature and animals, and I often go to see beautiful scenery and interact with animals in Japan. I have a cat and a dog in my house, but I’ve never interacted with horse and sheep, so I’m looking forward to seeing them in Ireland.

I’m a little petite, but I’m confident in my physical strength because I was a member of volleyball and kendo (a Japanese traditional sports) team during my school days.

Moreover, I’m able to teach Japanese because I’m taking a Japanese language teaching qualification in my university. I have a variety of part-time work experience, including helping with school-age children, cafe, restaurants, and choirs.

My main hobby is music. I especially love Irish music. I’ve been practicing tin whistle, a traditional Irish instrument since I bought it last year in Japan. There are many Japanese people who like playing Irish music and I have done sessions with them several times using various traditional Irish instruments in Japan. I was very happy at the moment.
I recently realized that most of things I have loved since I was a little girl have been related to Ireland, and I decided to go to Ireland.
I love to sing as well as play an instrument. I usually sing pops, songs, opera, musical songs, hymns addition to Japanese songs. Enya was a big breakthrough in Japan, and she is one of my favorite singers. I also like to play the guitar and listen to various types of music like pops and classic.

As for my language skills, I do not speak fluent English, but I can speak everyday conversation. I’m studying English hard now. I’d like to make friends from all over the world and talk about all kinds of things.

As for my personality, people often say I am cheerful and open-minded. I’m always interested in something new and curious. I love to talk with people, and I enjoy that time very much. I think I am positive because I try not to be terribly depressed about my failures and try to be happy with my life. I love doing things for people and seeing their happy faces makes me happy.
