I love thinking and learning to improve my vision of the world. I also feel deep happiness when I get to spend time and take care of my kitty Missina and my roommate's doggy, and everything I do is best done when I'm in company with my friends and family. I consider myself a hardwoking person, I'm always trying my absolute best when I comit to something I care about: I love a good job done!
Hello! I'm Karen and I'm a Literary Theory Major from the University of Granada with a course in romanic linguistics! Pilar and I are roommates and best friends. What makes me the happiest is experiencing and learning new things, I have a very active mind. I have interest in everything in the world. I love a good deep fulfilling talk about art, music, politics and philosophy. And speaking about art, I feel myself the most when I'm singing with my guitar, painting a watercolor, reading my favorite book, or sitting next to a river just enjoying nature. And the most important part: everything has to be done with my friends and my doggy Mandy. Animals make me super, super happy. Finally, I'd like to add that I absolutly love adventure, and I would willingly do my best at everything even if it's new to me. This is what makes me who I am!
We come from working class families and we know what hard work is. We've always been very independent, worked to help pay our higher studies in the agriculture field, as well as a little experience in hospitality at a familiar bar in our city. We've been living for 4 years by ourselves sharing an appartment and we know very well how to take care of ourselves! We know how to care and understand others, and we'd love to have new experiences working and exchanging culture, and getting to know other hard-working people!
Travelling with Mandy!
MANDY:
She's the dog in the pictures. She's an small (6kg) toasted-caramel and white doggy. She was given to me when I turned 15 six years ago, when she was just a puppey. We are inseparable, not just because she's my best friend but because she's chronically ill and she has to take daily meds, so I have to keep her near me. But is nothing too complicated, really. As long as she takes 2 pills a day she's just as fine and a healthy happy dog.
She's really calm and manageble. She's almost like a plushie! She currently lives with me in my appartment and all she does is sleep except for a few times that she wants to play with her crocodile toy. Also, for some reason she loves cats! HAHAIntereses

Karen studied Italian at uni for three years. She'd absolutly loved to speak with natives, and learn to speak more fluently. She also speaks English at a very high level, since she takes literature curses at college in C1 level English. She's also studied linguistics, so she's capable to teach both English and Spanish. Pilar's English is pretty good, at a B1/B2 level. Altough she fully understands written and spoken language and she's perfectly capable of comunicating. She's interested in improving her speaking skills and becoming more fluent in English. Of course, both of them are interested in doing a language exchange in Spanish.Habilidades y conocimientos que queremos compartir o aprender

Karen is a comparative literatures student, so she has knowledge of philosophy, art, history, and of course universal literature. She's also good at plastic arts and can play the guitar and sing. Her mum taugh her coocking since she was little, so her cooking skills are not to be ignore. She even knows how to cook propper foods from both of her nationalities: Ecuadorian and Spanish food. Finally, she's had participated in several animal rescues, and has volunteer in an animal shelter. She doesn't have a problem with dirty work, and neither does Pilar. She's in the process of getting her drivers license, will be ready for summer! haha
Well, as a fine arts student, Pilar has a good knowledge of art media: different painting and sculpture techniques. She comes from a family that works lands on the countryside, so she has experience in olive, potatoes and watermelon harvest. She's no stranger to physical work. Basically, she knowns about life in the countryside, and even if she's not tried something she's willing to make her best. She also has worked in the grape factory, she's a good worker. SHE HAS A DRIVERS LICENSE!!
They're both working on getting their Food Handler certificate :) Will be ready at April 2023
