Hello, I'm Julia. I'm a friendly, considerate and easy going person - curious about others - and I've lived at a few different communities enough to know it's the kind of living that suits me best, so am keen to visit some more.

I love seeing live music, adding weird and groovy tunes to my radar, dancing loopy, walking in woods, listening to people's stories and then really really wanting to get some of my own.
Recently my life has involved getting to know the circles of the poetry scene in Brighton, where I currently live in the UK as a student, and meeting the array of experimental artists and eccentrics that there. But I am also quite fed up with city life so am glad to be getting away for a while.

I have experience with planting trees, gardening, painting and decorating, cooking, and can learn new skills pretty quickly with a bit of guidance.

I've worked on a restoration project of a Grade 2 listed manor house, and seen the progress that's been made there over the past years by crafty DIY workers, and also witnessed the end of a recording studio being built, and I know that projects like these that TRANSFORM SPACE are what I really want to be involved in in the future as a way of life (along with needed conversations about property and land ownership)... but that I will need to learn many skills before I can properly do so.

Basically, my goals for my following trips are to meet people I otherwise wouldn't have come across, see how they do things, hitchhike a bit, practice my instruments, learn how people build projects from scratch and read/ write more poetry.

In terms of specific skills, its a big regret that I grew up not really learning any DIY skills, and I am super keen to get as many under my belt - especially as I'd love to be able to renovate buildings in the future cheaply and collectively. However, I have some experience with cooking for lots of people, gardening, painting and decorating (I've painted many walls), some woodwork and general tidying. I love spending time with kids, and in general, am a dedicated and thorough learner, so could pick up new skills if I were taught the basics.

would need access to a tiny bit of space in a fridge, as very frustratingly I have to carry some medicine around that needs refrigerating.
