Hi there,
I am heading to Europe in the Spring of 2024, where I plan to base myself for at least a year or so. I'm 57, fit, well and active. While much of my working life so far has been as a University lecturer, the past few years have seen me travel and live in remote parts of Australia, working or volunteering for wildlife conservations, drought affected stations, long distance horse treakking and most recently, with a nature tour organisation that specialised in small group treks to look for birds in wild places. I love being outdoors, being active, and most importantly, doing something useful! For fun I love to trek/walk, preferably up hills or mountains, with friends. I have applied for British citizenship, which I am entitled to through my mother being British, which will (once granted) give me the right to remain in England for as long as I want. I have been to England a couple of times in my life, but never had the time to explore all the different areas, so now it is about to happen!

I'm experienced with animals big and small, and currently volunteer as a boarder for guide dogs in training. As you would imagine, the Guide Dog Association is very fussy with who is lucky enough to have these animals live with you, so I have been well checked and passed all the hurdles to allow me to have these beautiful dogs from when they start their training until their graduation. I am also confident with horses (a lifelong rider and owner of horses), cattle, camels and goats, as well as a range of farm equipment and machinery.

A bit more about me - I'm a good cook, love gardening, actually enjoy cleaning, am very practical when it comes to property maintenance and take pride in whatever task I take on. I am a positive, can-do and independent person who enjoys a challenge and is happy to get involved in whatever is needed.

Although I'm quite comfortable in big cities, my happy place is in the countryside. I'm most interested in volunteering in environments that are in the country, with animals that need looking after, or older people who are seeking someone who is easy going, well educated and happy to help out with whatever is needed! I'm a very competent driver with a faultless driving record and love trips away exploring. I don't smoke, and only drink socially.
