**Expected minimum stay: one month.**
Start your own project in the beautiful nature of Colombia!
Within a short time since starting on workaway.info, our house filled up with a motivated team of voluntaries from all over the world. There are bigger and smaller projects all around, just waiting for you. For the more mundane tasks, we work with hired professionals who are there to assist you in the project of your choice.
Accommodation + 3 meals a day are included.
We are looking for volunteers that want to stay for at least one month. Ideally, you are available even longer term. There is a trial period of three days. Please understand that we reserve the right to cancel your stay in case, within these three days, things don't work out. On the other hand, we promise to take recruitment seriously and when we invite you, we have strong expectations that you are indeed a great match.
La Finca Siempreverde
located in the Andes, with a view over the beautiful town of Jardín, filled with flowers, bamboo forest, a small stream, horses and lots of other animals. There is still so much space to fill, gardens to plant and tree houses to build, we are looking for help.
The project started in January this year by Ruben and Richard. After first working as software-engineers, entrepreneurs, carpet-cleaning specialists and Bitcoin investors, and then traveling the world, they bought this beautiful property in the heart of Colombia. It is meant to become a place of rest, a creative space to start projects and to enjoy the magnificent nature around. At the moment, it is inhibited by five horses, three dogs, one cat, hundreds of birds, lots of ducks, and hens as well as a small and mixed group of friends and volunteers.
Since January, the main house has been extended by a terrace, another hut has been build, two new dogs have been adopted, fruit trees been planted and every day something new is improved. But yet there are so many more ideas and plans. The hen house needs to be advanced, a climbing trail along the stream is waiting to be whacked through the bushes, there are ideas for different kinds of gardens, a yoga and sports place, trails through the area and there is much room for artistic enhancement as well.
If you are motivated, creative, nature-loving and open-minded, you are just the person we are looking for. You should speak either english, german or spanish, so that we can communicate easily. If you have some special gardening skills, knowledge about the local wildlife, artistic talent or craftsmanship, this is even greater, though no necessity.
But we would love to have a Carpenter.
What skills do you have?
What project do you want to realize with us?
What is your favorite book?

What is your time frame? Minimum stay is one month. Let us know if you think you deserve an exception to that rule! :)
Is there anything else that we should know about you?
After receiving your message, we would like to have a video chat, Naturally, we would pick you up in Jardín. If you have trouble getting there, Ruben can give you a ride from Medellín, since he will drive there once a week. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
If the Finca-Project sounds like something you could fit in, we are happy to hear from you.
We are hoping to meet you soon!Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

The Finca-Project offers you many opportunities to learn: depending on the project you decide to do. You can learn about the local plants and animals, how to ride a horse or how to build a tree house. We may not know these things as well, but we want to learn as a team. Being a group of people with a range of ages, coming from different countries and having very different backgrounds, we constantly learn from each other. Though, we aren’t from Columbia and won’t be representatives of colombian culture. Nevertheless, working closely with our colombian workers, given you understand a little spanish, you will have contact with Colombians as well.

If you want to join, you could either realize an idea of your own, or help us with one of our plans. All the space and material you need would be offered by us, as well as accommodation and food. Projects and ideas that we want to realize soon are: Expanding the hen house, build a small lake for the ducks, plant gardens, improve and build paths through the area, build a trail along the stream, make the place more beautiful with pictures and art, create some place for sports. In addition to that, you could always help with the horses and all the other animals.
You would live at the Ranch with at least two other volunteers, structuring your day together as a team. The work is project-orientated. Saturdays and Sundays will be your days off, and after finishing the work, there also will be enough time to explore the area, take a horse ride or discover the nearby village Jardín – known to be the most beautiful village in Columbia.
We are a self-managed team. Managing new requests from workawayers and via Facebook is always part of the daily work. Basic organizational skills are also mandatory.Idiomas hablados

You will live either in the main house or in the hut. Both are equipped with showers and a kitchen. If you want to stay as a couple, there will be double beds available. The accommodation is rather simple but clean and bright. The big windows offer you the the chance to wake up with a view over the beautiful nature around.
Algo más...
The calmness, nature and the splendid view bring a remoteness with them, that you should be aware of. Though being connected via internet to the rest of the world, you need 20 mins by car, 30 mins riding the horse or one hour by foot to get down the bumpy road to Jardín– known to be the most beautiful village in Columbia. Once a week, Ruben will drive with the car from Medellín to Jardín and back. Living in the Ranch, you will have all the facilities needed (washing machine, electricity, showers) and you won't need to cook, wash or clean. However it is still a site with noises and dust, you might be attacked by mosquitos or by our lively dogs that won't miss a chance to play with you. In comparison to Medellin, the area around Jardín is rather cold at night and quite hot during the day. We have lots of blankets and a chimney, so you won't need to freeze. Equipped with good clothes and the right vibes for nature, your stay at our ranch will be a great adventure.

She helped us realise also very difficult and tiring projects. Besides that she is very creative, as well as her ideas, which helped us with in-house constructions and decorating/painting stuff.

She helped us realise also very difficult and tiring projects. Besides that she has a lot of knowledge with horses, which was very helpful improvising the situation with our horses as well as understanding them better.
It is located about 45min (by foot) from Jardín (which is also a very lovely and colorful town).
