Hi, my name is Magda, I'm a creative organic gardener and musician and my home is in a beautiful forest valley with a river, horses, ducks, and my big old friendly dog.
I'd like to welcome any young women who are looking to learn DIY skills like tiny home building, learning about solar power set up, construction with recycled timber and other second-hand materials, growing food, property maintenance.
I really enjoy to encourage women to try out building construction and gain confidence in using all the different tools involved in these projects. Over the years of building and developing this property myself, I've discovered that most of the things which seemed difficult to do, are easy once you learn how.
The projects for Autumn and early winter are:
Lots of flower garden, vege garden and orchard weeding and tidy up.
Finishing building a shower wall with window installation
Building a new kitchen bench, putting in a sink, building a DIY grease trap and fitting all the plumbing
Repairing holes in the cabin roof and insulating, wood panelling the interior walls for winter
Most of the building and diy projects take a few weeks to complete, so if you are planning just a one week stay the work will be shorter jobs like tidy up and garden care.
There's a lot of outdoor space here to stretch your legs and get out into nature. The river which runs through the property is great for swimming in summer, and there are short hiking tracks in the forest. It's a very peaceful relaxed place to stay.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

I'm happy to share everything I've learnt. I've collected lots of stories over the past 10 years of trying to live off grid, and hopefully some are entertaining and some informative. All the things I've done wrong, and the things that have gone right.
I like to laugh and enjoy deep conversations about life, have good shared meals and music evenings on occasion.Ayuda
No experience needed, just an enthusiastic attitude and sense of humour also helps.
There will be rainy weather, so please have a raincoat and be ok with working in the wet. I try to avoid it but sometimes it rains for weeks.Idiomas hablados

Accommodation this autumn and winter is a self contained upstairs flat at my father’s property next door. This is not off grid and has electricity and wifi. It is very private, quiet and has one queen size bed and one single bed. It has it’s own kitchen with fridge, microwave and stove. Downstairs is its own bathroom with washing machine. The toilet is an outside composting toilet which is a short walk through the orchard.
You’ll find my old dad Des is super friendly.
All bedding, towels etc are provided
All food is provided, and I’m happy to cook vegetarian, vegan, gluten free. Some organic food but not all organic.
Provide your own extra snack treats, there will be plenty of chances to visit the local supermarket.
The accommodation is for non smokers only.Algo más...
This is a good place to take a slow break and spend some time being creative. Be prepared to entertain yourself here on the property with things like books, journal, podcasts or arts and crafts to work on.
If you have your own transport there are lots of beautiful beaches to visit around the far north.
Please take note: For those without their own car, it’s not possible to travel to shops, town, beaches from here as there is no public transport! If you are staying for two weeks or longer I will arrange some beach time and transportation for you on your days off.
There's limited mobile reception here for mobile phones, however there is plenty of wifi internet which you're welcome to use.
Being surrounded by forest means you can expect some flying biting insects, so personal insect repellent for your skin and a few pairs long trousers and socks are a must!
Bring sensible shoes for working in, and a rain coat if it's winter or spring, it rains a lot here from June through to October. In summer, suncream and a hat and light cool long-sleeved shirts! The sun really burns here.Un poco más de información

What a woman! She's incredibly hardworking, inspiring and creative and it was amazing to work in a space where there was passion, patience and room for mistakes and learning.

Magda is lovely, funny, independent, patient, knowledgable, and super talented! We had a great time helping her build various things.
