Laara was a great help to us. She is easygoing, energetic, respectful and hardworking. She helped us with a variety of tasks such as weeding, harvesting, preserving food, housework, cleaning and much more. She was a great companion to us, our son and our pets. Her last day with us was so memorable to me, I got home after a long exhausted day with

I stayed with Taís, Carson and their son for a week. I really enjoyed their company, they are easy going and we had fun. I was happy to work in the garden, weed, clear paths, harvest radishes and can them, cook some meals and share them with the family, Taís's food was always healthy and very tasty! We went on a day trip on the weekend where a saw

The river was one of my favorite places there. I had a great time with the two border collies and the cats, especially with the little kitten. Thank you for everything!

Spending a week with Taís and Carson was a really great experience!
Their property out in the forest was really beautiful and living there was unlike anything I've experienced before.
Their lifestyle is simple and down-to-earth, and within only a few days in the peace and quiet of the forest I could feel myself relaxing from busy city life.

Especially with lots to do around the property and few distractions like the internet (which was able to be turned on if needed), it was a great refresh for my mind.
The work was difficult but rewarding!
I was not used to working outside at all, but I learned a lot along the way and it felt really good to be outside all day moving my body. With Carson's expertise in carpentry and botany, I learned about building practices and native prairie plants. Over the course of the week, I cleared areas of plants, hauled soil and compost, built rock and brick barriers, chopped kindling and moved firewood, moved logs and helped make planter boxes, and helped to install a simple solar system in their log cabin where I was staying.
The food we made and ate together was great! It was almost entirely vegan, which was completely new to me and was really fun to try. One evening we had some fresh ground beef from Carson’s mother’s farm which was as fresh and delicious as all the other food we had. We ate breakfast and dinner together, having a usually light lunch midday.
If you like cats and dogs you’ll love it here!! Lupin the cat was happy to come and sleep in my bed every night I was there and Schafer the dog will follow you anywhere you walk. Their other dog and cats are great too, but these two stood out to me as very sociable, haha. They also have a few chickens.
Throughout my stay I had really great experiences connecting with Carson and Taís, learning about their lives and their workaway journey and taking advice for myself in the future. We had dinner at Carson’s mother’s house on Taís’ birthday, and I spent a good amount of time hanging out with their ~1 year old baby who was a lot of fun to be around, even though I had no experience with babies beforehand :) Working around the property and going kayaking in the river with Carson, spending time helping to cook with Taís, and everything else made me feel almost part of the family even after just one week.
Overall it was an amazing first workaway experience, and I would love to go back to help out again someday!
Thanks again!!! :)Dejado por el anfitrión para el workawayer (Levi & Rin)
Unfortunately, Levi stayed with us for only one week. I can't say enough good things about this guy! His work ethic, his undying good attitude, his enthusiastic curiosity about all things, and his well mannered/respectful nature. Levi is a pleasure to spend time with and even after one week I would consider him a friend. He left a lasting

Emeline & Olivier were our first volunteers and we couldn't be happier with their stay at our homestead. Emi stayed with us for five weeks and Olive joined us for a week during fall/winter time.
They helped us with a variety of tasks around the property and gardens: Lots of weeding (thank you Emi ❤), mulching garden beds and pathways, sowing cover
… read more crops, cutting and stacking firewood, cleaning and organizing both of our greenhouses, chicken coop, roofs and much more.
They also help us with many daily tasks, meal prep and cooking!
They are both hard workers, eager to help, and had no problem working under the weather (raining and sometimes freezing)!
We had such a great time with them, many conversations, we went to some parties together, played board games, and watched movies. Our pets loved them too!
At the end of their stay, we did a tour of the property, and WOW, what a difference they made!
We are very grateful for their dedication and hard work and more than a help, we became friends and we hope that life brings us together again in the future!

The best hosts one could ever wish for!
If you're looking for a place to get back to your roots, and escape the city life non-sense, then this is for you!
At Tais and Carson's you'll get to experience the peace and quiet their property has to offer, Tais' wonderful vegan cooking after an honest day's work, Carson's original music, and so much
… read more love from all their cats and dogs (Shaffer will always be with you for fun and pets!). They have a lot of stories and wisdom from their own travels to share, and if you're lucky you may get to meet some of their wonderful family, friends, and neighbours too.
Honest, loving, supportive, they are a wonderful example of strength and resilience. Off-grid living isn't always easy, and there will always be unpredicted challenges to overcome, but with their drive and creativity, these guys can move mountains! We got the incredible opportunity to assist Tais through her pregnancy, a deeply moving experience.
There are always a million things to do, the work is varied and fulfilling, you'll never get bored and they have so much to teach.
The accomodations are "rustic" as they say, but clean, super cozy, and cute, and have everything you need. The outdoor shower is warm and efficient (we were there in December and it did the job perfectly).
Living there will allow you to recenter yourself on what's really important in life: a simple life, wonderful food, and a loving and caring community.
More than just hosts, they have become great friends, and we will be forever grateful to have had the chance to meet them and share life together for a while <3Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
