A reno project & travel business in a national park & ski area (tiny village but super close to the town & one hour from Turin),

Thanks for checking out our profile!

    We're Ash & Angie.

We're British / Irish, and we live in Northern Italy in a little village in the Gran Bosco National Park / Via Lattea ski area, 10 mins walk down to the town with all facilities and one hour train/car to Turin. Although the village is small, it's super friendly and our neighbours are always inviting us over, or coming to ours.

We have an Australian Shepherd called Wilson, and a cat called Shackleton (so liking animals is essential!).

We've lived and worked all across Europe for tourism companies for years, and now settled in Italy. Last year, we bought a massive, collapsing old farmhouse and are renovating & converting some of the space studio apartments for friends, family, holiday lets (& workawayers)!

We LOVE living in the mountains and spend our free time outdoors, trying new sports and exploring, but we're also just as happy kicking back with a prosecco & pizza in the garden, or with our friends at a BBQ.

Because we love the outdoors so much, Ash has recently launched his own online business,, and we're renovating our home, and adding holiday apartments for the next winter season.

I (Angie), have a background in social work and now work as a writer (mainly non-fiction, but I'm writing my first novel at the moment) - and also teach English online.

We're a social couple, and often have friends and family coming to stay in the house - most months there are at least one or two extra guests. We are very much a 'mia casa, tua casa', so make yourself at home! We love to socialise, but also know that your own space is important, so you can get involved as much or as little as you like. Feel free to join us on hikes, via ferrata, or exploring and over a glass of wine in the garden (the more the merrier, we say), but if you want time to yourself, your apartment is completely self-contained for a bit of alone time.

    What we're looking for -
    - Someone to really help us get to grips with the social media side of the business (and the holiday apartments).
    - If you speak Italian and want to help us improve our language, that'd be awesome.
    - General, happy-to-chip-in attitude for basic reno chores, animal care, gardening & cleaning
    - If you climb, we'd LOVE to learn. We've done it quite a few times, but still aren't knowledgable enough to do it without a friend who actually knows what they're doing (and there's loads of climbing around here)

    What we offer -
    - We can welcome a single person or couple (friends or partners, we have a king size bed, or twins), who could stay for a minimum of a week or two.
    - Although the house is old and we need to do loads of work, the studio apartment where you will stay is fresh - a new kitchen & bathroom have just been installed, and you have private access. So although we'd love to cook, eat, drink & hang out together, you'll be able to have your own space when you want time to yourself.
    - All meals will be provided, but if you love cooking and want to take over this as part of your exchange, you can defo do that!
    - As you'll have your own kitchen, we can give you a food budget if you'd prefer to cook and eat alone sometimes.
    - Plenty of time off to explore - join us on our adventures or go off and do your own thing.
    - Feel free to use my road bike (it's great for a small-ish sized person!)

We’re a British/Irish couple living in Italy. We love meeting new people. We're open-minded, left-wing, non-Brexit voters and would love to swap language, ideas and conversations with people who stay. Our area has a fascinating partisan history, and there are tonnes of Roman ruins around the place. We're also just an hour and 15 mins on the train to Turin. We spend our free time hiking, biking, doing via ferrate and walking the dog.

Angie teaches English online, already. We both really want to improve our Italian, as we live here full time now.

  • Alojamiento

    Alojamiento

Private studio apartment with fully fitted kitchen and bathroom. We can provide either a king sized bed or two single beds in the space

You'll have your own fully fitted kitchen, so if you prefer a budget for your food for part of the week, we can do that, but you'll be more than welcome to join us for every meal / cook with us (and we'll pay for all ingredients), or do a mix of both. I usually go food shopping once a week and drive to a big supermarket, so if you want to join in meal planning, or make suggestions, you can definitely do that!

We'd love to welcome people who become friends and are happy if you want to come hiking or exploring the area with us. There's a train station 20 mins walk from our house that gets you all over Italy on the high speed trains. There's a bus stop just outside our house that runs once an hour down to the local town, or up to the ski resort (in five mins - although no skiing in summer, of course). For a few weeks of summer, the ski lifts open again and there is great downhill mountain biking ten mins from the front door.
Our village is so small there are no bars or restaurants, but five mins on the bus in either direction takes you to the lively towns.

You would be staying in a private studio apartment. There is good internet, with a booster box positioned so your internet is strong. You will have a table and chair in your studio, so if you want to work on projects in your spare time, the facilities are available for you.
