  We are a dog shelter, in the mountains above the sea-side town of Almunecar. We need help with the care-taking of the dogs, from the poop-scooping to the puppy-cuddling and walking and appreciate dog-loving people that can handle living off-te -beaten track to help abandoned dogs have a little better life while they are at our shelter.

  We have volunteers of different countries, coming together for their love of dogs and animals in general. Being in Andalucia, you can go to the towns and experience the Spanish living, as its an area which is not overly touristic.

  Ayuda

  We need help with the cleaning of the kennels in the morning and in the late afternoon. This is normally a 4-hours work. Most volunteers like to take the dogs for walks, or taking their pictures... the actual time spent with the dogs is flexible.
  As we are expanding the outside patios, we also need help with construction of low brick walls and putting in fencing.
  This could be a ob independent from the kennel-cleaning.
  
  In summertime is quite hot in the area, so the work is mostly early morning and later in the afternoon.

  Alojamiento

  We have a room with toilet and washbasin. Shower is close by. Also a kitchen for the volunteers. Other sleeping possibility is a seperate part of bigger room. You can cook your own food, have the possibility to take the car to go shopping.
  
  The volunteer gets €50 per week to buy food in the town. There is a kitchen available to cook.

  The best airport to come to us is Malaga. Then either by bus or we have someone picking you up from the airport.
  In summertime is quite hot in the area, so the work is mostly early morning and later in the afternoon.

  We have a paved area that is perfect for campervans, electricity can be provided. But the access to the refugio is a steep slope, so have to be able to reach it (a normal car can)

  If the dog can be kept in the volunteer area while you are working around the shelter dogs.
