I'm in Istanbul right now and looking for people my age to meet up and explore with.

Beschreibung

I am a beginning filmmaker and I am planning to go to film school next autumn. Both watching and creating cinema inspires me and makes me happy. I have directed a short film and participated in many student productions at my local youth film school and plan to shoot a lot of beautiful material during the trip. I absolutely love Out of Africa, The Lord of the Rings, Dunkirk and Atonement, as well as many other beautiful films, rewatching them and watching new ones motivates me to work, create and, indeed, travel.

I consider myself a friendly person and would love to get to know my hosts and travel buddies well, maybe even become friends! I am pretty spontaneous and adventurous.

I am also incredibly inspired by traveling itself, of course, and all that it includes: seeing new places, meeting new people, learning about new cultures. Some of my favourite trips were to Morocco and France because I got to live with the locals in France and meet some amazing people from all over Morocco! I have been traveling since early childhood with my family and I do not remember my first trip abroad, for which I consider myself to be incredibly blessed. So traveling has always been one of my main sources of happiness!

Another thing that motivates me is learning, especially by hands-on experience, however I am a big fan of reading as well.

I have been an English language tutor for children and teenagers for several years now. I mostly work with pronounciation, phonetics, vocabulary and less with grammar or linguistics. I approach it as practice-based teaching, meaning I mostly talk with my students, discuss different themes and subjects, watch videos, listen to songs with them, etc. Personally I've been speaking English since I was five years old, because I used to live in an English-speaking country as a child (Kenya). My official IELTS-accredited level is C2. I have also been learning French for about 7 years now, and though I am not fluent in it the way I am in English, I can confidently say that my level is Upper-Intermediate. I am looking to get more practice for my French during my travels. Since I am Russian, Russian is my native language. I can teach it, if anyone would be interested, and, of course, communicate in it freely.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am the eldest child in a family with five children, so I am good with kids. Everything from feeding to playing to putting to sleep, calming down, changing, going for walks, doing homework, etc. Babies, toddlers, older children and tweens, because I've been there to help with every one of my brothers when they were growing up (and I still am, as they are all younger than 15 at the moment).

I am also not bad with tutoring, especially in English, because I am bilingual (Russian and English) and have been side hustling as an English tutor for children and teenagers for a couple years now.

I can do small tasks around the house and the garden.
Cleaning, of course, laundry, cooking, etc.
Planting, weeding, mowing the grass, watering, etc
Painting, outside and inside
DIY tasks
And in general anything you ask of me, I am a quick learner if the task at hand isn't something I've already done.

I am eager to help at hostels and B&Bs, as well as community projects! I love meeting new people and have no trouble doing hard work:)

I have also been working as a photographer and videographer for several years, so I can both film and photograph, as well as edit in Lightroom and DaVinci Resolve.

I am a big fan of reading as well as cinema, my favourite books are To Kill A Mockingbird, Lord of The Rings, many Bunin and Gorky stories.

I love different sports, I have trained in aerial gymnastics (on silks and slings), acrobatics, horse riding (for the last year, so I can trot and gallop and have gone on several walks to the fields and forests). I am generally an active person, so I would love to do sports with you (except for running, that I'm not very good at).

I adore sailing! I've spent a week sailing around Ibiza and have gone on several sailing tours since. I don't have much knowledge about sailing, but my father is an accredited captain and I get my passion from him. I would love to help out on a sailboat and learn more about sailing!
