Hi everyone!

Our names are Maddy and Joe, from the UK. We're currently travelling around South America, building our Spanish skills and meeting lots of new people! We're outgoing, active and reliable people and would love to improve our understanding of the places we're visiting by participating in a Workaway.

We're both passionate about education and language, and have experience volunteering in UK.

At home, Maddy is an education researcher, specialising in disadvantaged children. She also studied Spanish at university and spent time working as a translator for a newspaper in Málaga, Spain. In her spare time, Maddy volunteers for a charity that supports homeless women in Manchester.

Joe's work also relates to education: he is a mathematician and analyses education statistics. In his spare time he's passionate about the environment. He has previously run workshops for children and volunteers for a charity that advocates for the protection of birds

We are both native speakers of English with an excellent grasp of the complexities of the language. We both have experience teaching young children to speak and read. We are incredibly passionate about the importance of language learning and exchange.We also understand how it feels to learn a second language. Maddy speaks Spanish to a very good level. She studied Spanish at university and lived in Spain. Joe speaks basic Spanish and is improving every day with lots of practice. He also studied Italian at school.
