  Join us and become part of the family! Hello, I am Lua (32 years old) married to Pierre (32 years old), we have four children: Clélia (8 years old), Emmanuelle (7 years old), Théophile (5 years old) and Héloïse (3 years old) as well as our cat Kakou .
  
  We are looking for someone to come and help us take care of the house and teach English to the children.
  
  About us: As a family we love being in nature, we love exploring the area, but lately we especially enjoy being in our backyard. We love permaculture and we are gradually putting this philosophy into practice in our garden, planting our own vegetables, we are also lucky to have lots of fruit trees in our garden (peaches, pears, apples, grapes, cherries as well as berries). We are more often in the garden than in the house, there is always something to observe and appreciate, whether plants or birds, life is rich there. We traveled in Europe for a year with our daughters and two backpacks and did some workaway with them. We loved the experience but had to come back to France so we decided to swap guest roles to become hosts this time around! Currently, Pierre works as an engineer and I am a frontend developper with a passion for photography and triathlon. We like to be able to meet other people with the same interests and share our travels because we miss it a lot. We have already welcomed three wonderful women at different times while living in Toulon, Marseille and Melle, and the experience has been very enriching. We are very open-minded and happy to welcome people of all types of sexual orientation, ethnic origins, and religious denominations, we ask you in return for the same open-mindedness and respect. Our children are full of life and love. You have to be patient and enjoy the company of children, as it can be intense and noisy, especially as a few of them are neurodivergent, but it's also wonderful to be around them. They go to a democratic school (Sudbury School), so they are used to having independence, choosing for themselves and asking questions, lots of questions! We try to follow a respectful parenting approach, being human and having four children with strong characters, we are sometimes overwhelmed, so our approach is not always perfect, but we do our best and are looking for someone who feels comfortable in an environment where children have opinions, meltdowns, ideas, energy, and are not blamed for it. If you like calm and "well-behaved" children, this is not the home for you... but if you like children who are full of ideas and imagination, who like to play in the dirt, climbing trees, making huts and jumping in puddles, then you are sure to enjoy a taste of a free and wild childhood.
  
  About our town: Niort is a very pleasant town with free public transport and easy access to bikes, we live about a 15 minute walk from the town centre. Thus, you can easily access the city as well as nature walks during your free time. During the summer evenings there are a lot of concerts and events. By train, you can easily access La Rochelle which is by the sea, or Poitiers, Nantes and Bordeaux if you wish to discover other cities during your weekends.
  
  What we are looking for: We are looking for someone to take care of the house while we work and help with the children when they are not in school. We need you to tidy up the house, taking care of dishes, vaccuming and things like that, as well as helping us with cooking (only vegetarian meals). As for the children, they are home on wednesdays and after 5.30 on other weekdays, it will mainly be to play with them. We are looking for someone to speak to them mostly in English so they can learn, even if it's not your first language . We are looking for an independent person who likes to go for walks and do activities because it is important for us to have family time so that the balance of the children is maintained, a proactive person able to see where help is needed , but above all a person who loves being with children and playing with them. A few nights per month we need you to look after he children while we go out for dinner.

  My husband and I are both French and we can help you progress in your French learning. I am passionate about photography, and we are all nature lovers. We would love to share everything we know about French culture and our life experiences with you. Our children love to read so if you are looking to improve your French, I am sure you will progress quickly.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for someone who enjoys spending time with children, and speak to them mainly in English, but we still need someone who can communicate in French even if it's pretty basic. You will stay at home with the children on wednesdays and would play inside or in the garden. Prior experience with young children would be required as I don't want this to be stressful or overwhelming for you. Children love creative hobbies, free play, jumping on the trampoline, looking for insects in the ground, hunting for treasures of nature, dancing etc. If you are passionate about dancing, drawing, music, etc., it would be wonderful for the children to be able to learn with you! And if you like photography, I can teach you what I know! The job itself requires being able to analyze the situation and see where help is needed, because micromanagement takes a lot of my energy, so I need a proactive person who takes initiative . You must have experience with young children to be prepared as they can be loud, excited etc. and it can be very tiring and intense so please keep that in mind. (but of course they are also full of joy, life lessons to teach us and so much laughter and good humor).
  
  On days where the children are at school we only need you to do light house work, so the house stays clean and organised as well as help with preparing dinner.

  Unterkunft

  We live in a house with a beautiful garden. We welcome you to our home as a friend and hope you feel like one. You will have your own bedroom located on a separate floor from our living rooms which will allow you to have more peace and privacy. The bedroom is equipped with a double bed, a desk, storage space, a small fridge and a microwave. You can of course eat with us, but if you prefer to eat alone or go out, that is also entirely possible. We eat vegetarian, mainly vegan, but you are free to have the food you want in your fridge. We need someone who can also give us some privacy and family time, so you need to be someone who also wants to do things alone in your free time, to keep our family dynamic alive.
