  We are Julien and Castille (26 & 27 years old from Belgium and France). We speak French, English and Portuguese. We bought a piece of forest in Portugal and try to make this place unique. The land is close to the ocean (10 minutes driving), to the village (15 minutes walking) and to Lisbon (30 minutes driving). Our experiences in previous volunteering position decided us to do this project and we are really happy that we can now involve volunteers in our land. We mostly need help with gardening and building.

  We are living a simple and slow life in sunny Portugal and with us you can discover how we transform our forest into a cosy place close to nature. You will learn to reevaluate the value of things you have in your daily life, as we are working with limited ressources compared to a classic household (outside shower, electricity from solar panels and water from the rain, compostable toilets).

  Arbeit

  🕞 Help in the morning (9h to 12h) or in the afternoon (14h to 17h), depending on the weather.
  
  🪴 Helping with the earth, landscaping (flat the ground, make pathways and stairs), gardening (plant trees, water them), carry materials, but also building and carpentry (furnitures, cabanas), and taking care of our chickens
  
  ⚠️ The help ask some physical efforts as we only use manual tools

  Unterkunft

  Even though it’s an important project for us, we are still working with a small budget so here is what we can offer in exchange of 3 hours of help per day and per person:
  
  🍽️ One sandwich or meal
  ⛺️ Accommodation in tent, including all the sleeping gear
  💦 Drinkable water
  💩 Dry toilets
  ⚡️ Electricity from solar panels
  🚿 Outdoor shower powered by rain water
  👩🏼‍🍳 Kitchen with gas, oven and all the cooking materials

  🚌  You have a bus stop 15 minutes walking by the land and you can go to Ericeira and the beaches (10 min), Mafra (10 min), Lisbon (45 min)
  
  ☕️ Coffee shops and first shops are 15 minutes walking from the land
  
  🏝️ On your free time you can chill at the land, take walks around the village or forest, go to the beach or discover villages and cities around
  
  ⛱️ Sometimes we go to the beach for surfing too so we can drop you there
