We are a family of 5 adults who are attempting to combine 5 smallholdings, all of which have been badly neglected into one large farm of 70 hectares. All the smallholdings are within a 10 mile radius of each other and so we work on different ones on different days. Volunteers stay at the main house with the Parents of the family. We have a mixed flock of 5 types of rare breed sheep,1 cow, 2 pigs and some poultry and water fowl. All our land is grassland with a few small spinnies. We have 40 year old hedges that we are attempting to tame so lots of cutting back and wood shredding to do plus wood logging. We also have a very large polytunnel and 2 vegetable gardens where we need help to grow vegetables. We are trying to build some new large greenhouses. Help sorting things in the house would also be appreciated. On October 12th we started to paint and renovate a 3 bedroomed house and so far we have done four rooms downstairs. we need helpers who can apply paint to come and help paint the 3 bedrooms upstairs and the staircase and landing so if youare interested please get in touch. We DO have an application form for all helpers to fill in BEFORE coming to us - it protects us and it protects helpers.

Les Patis is among the rolling countryside of the Pays d'Auge in Normandy just 1km from a bustling town with restaurants, shops and cafes. Our home is a lovely farmhouse with four holiday cottages, set in 17 acres of gardens. There is always lots to do but we have lots of fun too and of course time to relax and explore. Help is needed in the gardens most days and on Saturdays we prepare for new guests arriving. We enjoy meals on the sunny patio, and we share the cooking. There is a tennis court and swimming pool, with fishing lake and woodland. I am looking right now for a responsible couple who could stay for two - three weeks from 12th October and also for a similar couple who would like to spend Christmas this year in Normandy. If you are looking to improve your French this may not be the right workaway for you. We are an English family and most of our clients, although varied and international are not French! However, we are very glad to have French speakers as it helps communication with other staff!

We are a couple from Germany/Guatemala (54, 55 years old) and speak German, English, Spanish and some French. We are looking for helpers with and without experience. Helpers in spring are especially needed. Who can build an oven to make bread??? Where? In the village of St. Christol de Rodieres, 7 km from the Ardeche river (canyon, canoe, cajak, swiming) about 60 km northwest of Avignon (old city of the pope). Avignon is reached easily in 2 ½ hours by TGV-train from Paris. Or train from Lyon to Bollene-La Croisiere.

Look after children in Uganda: We are looking for volunteers who can share their skills with children aged 3-5 at a daycare center and orphanage in Uganda. This program is for you if you love children and have some childcare experience or not. Farming in Uganda: we need volunteers who can encourage the awareness of local plants and biodiversity, respect for the environment and the sustainable use of soil and water. It means the passing-on of knowledge from the old to the young and a reinforced spirit of collaboration. A garden, moreover, means guaranteeing a daily supply of fresh and healthy food to local communities, improving the quality of daily life and the development of local economies.
