Hello my name is Toon, I live in a little rainforest home with an organic tropical food garden surrounding me.
I live a low footprint existence, simple frugal earthy uncomplicated.
No phone, no TV or radio. Electronics are kept in a shipping container detached from my living residence. I allow myself 5 minutes of internet couple times per week to keep all running. All electronics including phones laptops kindles watches remain off and put away whilst in my home.
People stay here simply for my no electronica policy.
I do not bend for community, friends, guests nor volunteers.
If this is going to be an issue. Do not apply.
A small solar system supplies me limited power, clean forest rain my water source. There are no chemicals in my home and few in my life. I ask that you abstain from your array of personal chemicals whilst here as well. A time to cleanse.
The food experience is uncommon in this country. My garden unique. l serve a lot of rich leafy greens not found in supermarkets and rare at any markets. Greens are the foundation of my holistic health. I grow many tubers, fruits, berries, herbs and nuts. Meals served will sometimes contain minimal amounts of non-farmed animal ingredients. I accept vegans but do not change or accommodate anything extra than the food experience served. In between the meals there is often tropical fruit salads and smoothies or warming winter garden teas
I am an active man, running different programs, massaging community, developing, testing, always fixing stuff and time tending to self. Applicants need to appreciate ‘self time’ for the first two weeks. Swimming hole 3 km away, veranda with comfortable couch and a nice view, a selection of books or bring your own. You can hang out with me in your time, I do enjoy, but it will lead to helping me glue, drill, twist and wotnot
I retire to the house at dusk, stretch and yoga for an hour while the day fades to night. A silent time in my home. We eat after yoga stretching.
There is no alcohol, smoking nor drugs permitted on my property.
On weekends if not raining in the rainforest we have a fire, a wee drink and smoke. We can dine on toasties or a coal baked jungle bread with chocolate or cheese.
Rest of the time you have a short opportunity to live as I do,
disconnected to the outside world.

dedicated to both.
This is an opportunity to try something a little different. That takes guidance, instruction, boundaries and rules perhaps a little contrasting to what you are used to. If you do not like boundaries or rules that come with learning and new experiences, then do not apply to me.
first 2 weeks is standard workaway agreement.
4 hours work for good accomodation, unique organic food and uncommon lifestyle expereince
If you stay after them 2 weeks, then I start to bring out tools and toys for your objectives or desires. If the jungle is your chase I begin to point you in the right direction, the first steps to escapades with me.
The longer you stay the bigger the experiences.
2 month volunteers get a Toon holiday at the end
3 months volunteers have all had a special secret adventure.
Work starts 7am.
During the 4 hours work I am a drill sergeant, I am very experienced and fair, understanding of maturity, background, skill base and size, always diligent to your health and safety. However during those 4 hours I am stern and not so soft. I can bark at times. Many of those great feedback kids got barked at. We work hard and fast as I do when alone or engaged in my other programs. I address whatever the task as a personal building exercise, both physically and mentally. We focus on breath, posture, precision, efficiency, speed, stamina and strength. You will be reminded of these things during the four hours.
Some volunteers still write me because of the ‘work’ time, you will not find much opportunity to work under some one like me. It can be a time that changes your life and it has done often. but only to those who seek such.
Those 4 hours is what the Daintree Toon experience is about.
If you apply, make sure you want, really want, that daily 4 hour challenge.
Important, if you are flat and slow in the mornings I remove you quickly, I do not give away my time nor energy to raise spirit in others. I only share my unique lifestyle, special garden, toys, home, forest and heart to those who present themselves with vibrant energy and excitement for the opportunity to be here, and that means fast quick movement in the mornings. We start fast end slow.

Arriving at my place with a USB of new music and movies will make you special from the first step. Present a USB for a Sunday night picture show with photos of your life (not selfies) things like granny’s back yard, the school block, the apartments in the hood, Dads shed, your old car, the motor way to work, river where you swim etc, do that and you may be pleased at some point that you made the effort and made the experience important even before you got here.
