We are a German Romanian couple living in a small traditional village near Timisoara (Romania). We produce our own food but we still generate the main income from freelance jobs. We hope one day to start a ”green camping” where one can camp between our cucumbers supports and eat the delicious organic meals we cook... Our house is open for helpers that look for experiences in wild Eastern European countryside and enjoy simple living in a traditional village. As one of us works for a cultural Association in Timisoara, we are particularly happy to host people with experience in street performances / busking (music in particular) as we can intermediate the necessary permits in the city. We prefer volunteers stat stay at least one week.

We are looking for people who are interested in cultural exchange and volunteering with us for our foundation. COUPLE Wanted for Small fairytale castle in FRANCE Available Dates: February 15th, 2013 - April 30th COUPLES ONLY, PLEASE! We are a couple with an 11 year old child, 2 very loving dogs, chickens, 2 ponies, 1 gentle horse, a goat and fish. We are relaxed, flexible, trustworthy and friendly, and look for caretakers who share these same qualities to replace our much-loved current couple (who are moving on after a wonderful 1 year stay). Our chateau is a 150-year-old neo-Renaissance castle on 10 hectares of land in a region famed for its history and beauty. As it is neo-Renaissance (1850’s) and not medieval, it is in remarkably good condition. All of the rooms (4 main rooms + 7 bedrooms) are in a good state of repair as we have undergone a process of updating the chateau since its last restoration in the 1970s. However, given its age, it always needs maintenance in the areas of plumbing, electricity, clearing of gutters, etc. The chateau operates as a family home, occasionally hosting parties and events, and also features a holiday cottage on the grounds. The chateau is located in an idyllic location in the Western Loire Valley of France, and is only 2km away from the nearest town with everything one could want: supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, bars, even its own racecourse. The nearest city is 15km away, and features a high-speed train connection. We are only 1.5 hours SW of Paris by train. We are also equidistant to all of the castles of the Loire Valley, Mont St. Michel, the Normandy Beaches, and Brittany, as well as many attractions locally. The region is very hospitable, and we try to be as well! We care more about the ‘fit’ of the couple, in personality, skills, English-language ability and commitment, than in age. Our farm is located in South-Savo province, in Virtasalmi. The closest towns are Mikkeli (65km to the south of) and Pieksämäki (35km to the north of). Our main fields of work is to be a foster home for some children, welfare social work. We are a big happy family who lives in the countryside. We are living in rural areas in the very small village. The nearest shops are in 17 kms. We have many animals like dogs, chicken, five horses, two donkeys. If you like to ride, it is possible here :)!
