Beschreibung
This is a personal project that has become a big part of my life. (Hi, i am Pedro, i have studie civil engeniering and architecture, lived in some places around the world and ended coming back to where i've born, bought a piece of land from my dad which he had bought in the 90's, and started to find meaning of life while working on it)
I first started hosting travellers with couchsurfing, back on 2016~, by the year of 2018 i started workaway, and in the beginig the idea was just to have people around to help with basic daily tasks, working on the land, and exchanging gradually creating a place where we could live closer to nature and share everyday life with other people.
We started hosting events, and courses like Rapé medicine preparation (5 days where we extract the leaves and barks from specific trees around the property, dried on fire until it became a powder and mixed with Yawanawa native's ashes to create rapé)
We even had psicologic events with terapeuts, meditation and hipnosis.
Other than that, yoga lessos, parties in the woods, mushroom consagrations, and lunchs and dinners often happens.
Back in 2022 we had some storms which dammaged part of the house, and i started to fix it, after sometime other storms came and damaged it more, so by 2024 i started on building a new house, with stone and rammed earth walls, now i am getting close to finish it, many people helped, friends, professionals, teachers, volunteers, which whom i am very thankfull to all, doing something like this with the conditions i had were very challenging, in many moments i tought if i was crazy for doing something like that, the weather also came again with heavy rains and storms, which delayed the works.
The sítio is still under construction. There are unfinished spaces, things to repair, gardens to develop, and plenty of practical work. Depending on what’s happening during your stay, we might be planting trees, preparing garden beds, building with earth, wood or stone, doing carpentry, maintaining trails, cooking, cleaning, or caring for the dogs.
I enjoy seeing something take shape through people working together. As an architect, I contribute by thinking about spaces, finding solutions, and organizing how an idea can become something we actually build. I also learn a lot from the people who come here, it was always my goal to creat a harbor for travelers to come and share, i've travelled to some places also, inside brasil and outside, lived some time in china a long time ago, and visit europe twice, now i have friends in many places around the world because of this program and it is very nice! I am a person who doesnt like to live in big cities or crowed places, i can go, visit, see, but in the end what i crave is for nature, landscapes, animals, shadow of the trees, rivers, the possibilitie of eating fruits straight from the trees, or making tea with the plants we just harvest, sit by a fire watching the sun or the stars in silence is just terapeutic to me.
I am a really curious being, and i like hearing how people live in other countries, how their political systems work, what they care about, and what they’ve experienced. These conversations often give me a different perspectives of the world, and it is awesome to spread our point of view over things.
For a long time, I imagined becoming increasingly self-sufficient and living mostly from what I could create inside a closed off grid system. I still value that independence, but my perspective has changed. I’ve come to appreciate how much we depend on connections beyond our own land. I also want enough financial stability to look after myself, care for others, and keep investing in places and business that bring up conscioness and care for the people and land it take part on and upon.
Recently, I’ve been exploring business ideas and collaborations with people I’ve met, including connections in other countries. If you’re interested in these subjects, I’d enjoy exchanging ideas. Sometimes a conversation during a visit opens possibilities that continue long afterward.
Travelers have already contributed a lot here. There are things around the sítio that remind me of particular people something they built, a recipe they shared, a skill they taught us, or even just a conversation that took place in a bonfire under the stars, a shared meal, a garden or craft made by.
I appreciate people who communicate clearly, take initiative, respect others, and participate in the ordinary tasks of living together. You might spend one afternoon discussing the future of society and another digging holes in the mud. Quite possibly both on the same afternoon.
If this sounds like a place you’d enjoy, tell me about yourself, your travel plans, and what you’d like to contribute or learn. We can talk about the work currently happening, accommodation, meals, and expectations before arranging a stay.

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
Travellers who come here will have the opportunity to experience a deeper and more authentic side of southern Brasil, not only as tourists, but as participants in daily life, nature, community and local culture.
They can learn about permaculture, agroforestry, gardening, bioconstruction and ecological design, while helping us care for the land and understand how a regenerative project is built little by little, through observation, patience and hands-on practice.
The region also offers beautiful cultural and natural experiences. Volunteers may have the chance to visit nearby places such as Ametista do Sul, known for its amethyst mines and underground tunnels; Iraí, with its thermal waters and river landscapes; and Salto do Yucumã, the biggest longitudinal waterfall in the world.
This exchange is also a way to connect with the history of the south of Brazil: its rural traditions, native biomes, indigenous presence, immigrant cultures, local food, regional ways of living and the relationship between people and land.
From time to time, there may also be opportunities to learn about traditional forest medicines and sacred ceremonial practices, such as rapé, and other native medicines, always with respect, care and cultural sensitivity. Participation in any ceremony is completely optional and separate from the volunteer work. The intention is never tourism of the sacred, but respectful learning and connection.
More than anything, travellers can benefit from slowing down, being in nature, making new friends, sharing stories around the fire, learning practical skills and becoming part of a project that is still growing.
Here, the cultural exchange is not only about learning from a place.
It is about being changed by it. -
