Region: Västerbotten, SwedenHi! Hi! We now have all volunteers needed for summer 2014!!! regards Arne and Desiree Hi! We are Arne & Desiree and Arnold, 4 years old. We are a Swedish family and are running a horse farm and also keep some country animals located in the country side. We run a small trail ridning business with the horses. The farm is beautifully situated on the shore of our small private lake surrounded by large pine forests. We have 11 horses, 2 sheeps, angora rabbits, a bunch of chicken, 1 family dogs, 1 cat and soon 1 milking cow. We are trying to become as much self reliant as we can and are growing vegetables and herbs for households needs and all cooking is made on a wood fired stove in our large country kitchen. We are both hardworkers. The life on the farm entails a lot of work everyday and this is our lifestyle which we enjoy. Arne´s focus on the farm is the horses and building whilst Desirée takes care of the 4-year old, cooking food, housework and the vegetable garden. We have both lived in Australia for six years. Arne has also been travelling a lot around Asia, Europe and South America. We are both open minded, finding interest in meeting new people, exchanging ideas and stories.
Region: AragonRob: I grew up spending summers on my great aunt’s farm in Poland, a lifestyle I loved and yearned for myself. After meeting and marrying Emma, we bought a house in the British countryside, grew our own vegetables and had chickens, it just seemed right that we should follow our dreams and commit fully to the life we both wanted. Keen on traditional building techniques I am looking forward to restoring the masia and building a traditional stone bread oven. Emma: An artist, traveller and teacher wanting to set down roots and live a simple life in tune with nature. Having studied architecture I wanted to be able to design my own home in a way that worked with nature rather than against it. This farm and artist retreat has been my dream for as long as I can remember; it was just a matter of when and where it would happen. Stanley: I’m a gorgeous great big teddy bear of a dog and important part of the family. One of my parents was a poodle and the other a labrador, making me an awesome mix of the two. I love meeting and playing with other dogs, children and adults, so I’m happy for any of you to bring your humans with you to stay with us. The Farm: The large stone masia, (farm house) set on top of the reef with valleys either side, surrounded by tree covered hills. There are beautiful olive and almond groves, wild flowers and herbs, golden eagles sore overhead and all of this near to the famous Sea of Caspe. We will be farming organically working towards organic certification. As well as the olive and almond groves we will be planting fruit trees and having a vegetable patch in order to provide as much of our own produce as possible. We will also have chickens and hopefully in the future goats and pigs.

Region: ScotlandHello. I live alone with my little darling and slightly naughty daughter Aziza who is 21 months, and my two characterful Tonkinese cats, Elfie and Issy. We live by the sea in gobsmackingly beautiful and friendly Edinburgh, Scotland. I have been a yoga and pilates teacher and massage therapist for 12 years and also hold an MSc in philosophy from the University of Edinburgh. I have kind of toggled back and forth between bodywork and Eastern arts and more analytical enquiry in the form of academic philosophy. Along the way I have lived and worked in various countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East, and travelled to many more. Jobwise, before training in yoga, pilates and massage, I worked as a nanny and housecleaner, did various manual labour jobs from treeplanting in British Columbia to salmon fishing in Alaska, a bit of office work and lots and lots of waitressing. This whole workaway thing has been a revelation to me. A friend introduced it to me a few months back and so far I have had four workawayers helping me out by looking after Aziza, but also helping in those wonderful unpredictable spontaneous ways as different people with different lives share so much more than just a room in exchange for some hours' work. I have richly benefitted in all kinds of unforeseen ways from sharing time and space with these four wonderful workawayers. I should mention that I have been living in El Medano, Tenerife, and am only now returning to Edinburgh. As it is a different place I am now using a new workaway profile. But if you want to check out my reviews etc from my El Medano profile, you will find me by typing my username on that profile, which is 'emilia'.
