Region: Lower NormandyDue to a cancellation we have available places for half July till half August. We are John and Patricia, a Dutch couple, who live in Normandy. (we speak Dutch and English and understand German) but from our French you get tears in your eyes....... Our place is very quiet but not completely isolated. There is a small village with all commodities less than one km from our place. We have more than a hectare (3 acres) of (part overgrown) land. Well, to be honest, we had so many great helpers that it feels more like landscaping at the moment! Thank you all!!!! There is also an organic vegetable garden with a huge polytunnel on it. We have so many wishes but not enough time and money to do everything. That's why we like to see some enthusiastic people with great ideas and outdoor skills to help us. As we have a number of animals (cats, dogs, geese, turkeys, chickens) we would like you to be an animal lover. In The Netherlands my husband was a veterinarian and we had an animal clinic for small animals. Great hiking opportunities, the GR 36 lies just behind our house Frequently we visit the seaside and other places of interest. (D Day landing beaches ) Don't miss our website to see what great things there are to do in the surrounding!! You are welcome to join us. Ask for our website to get more info and see your accommodation. This is the gite, not the main house! Free telephone calls (in case of....) to a lot of places in the world. (Europe, US, only to fixed numbers) Internet acces on our spare PC's and/or WIFI (bring your own laptop) Welcome, and enjoy the good life together with us. Oh, I almost forgot to say that every helper cooks ones a week something special from their country,so take your favourite recipes!! Never a dull moment and enough time to spend on your own.. Hope to see you soon, John, Patricia and Innisfree.
Region: AndaluciaMy wife and I have just purchased a Cortijo in Andalucia, just over 100 miles and 2 hours inland from Malaga Airport. The house is detached, with the nearest neighbour about 0.5 of a mile away on the edge of a small hamlet, which somehow manages to offer 2 bars - one for each house :-) We have a 12 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier crossed with a Rhodesian Ridge back (he's friendly, but protective) and have just rescued 2 kittens from death amongst the rubbish bins of the village we have been living in for the past few months :-( We are both NON-SMOKERS and my wife is a Raw Vegan and does not drink alcohol. I am retired and she is a qualified Yoga Teacher, Chi Running/Walking Instructor and NLP Master Practitioner. The property has not been lived in for a couple of years and the 6,000 square metres of land needs serious clearing and taming (not all of it!) We have a few dozen Olive trees and several Almond trees, so there is another 'opportunity' for harvesting these later in the year.... The house itself will be subjected to a programme of updating and general improvement over the coming months, using the relevant trades (Rewire/bathroom upgrades/tiling/roof repairs etc) but is entirely 'liveable' now, although of a 'basic standard' and in need of a thorough clean and dust! We will be 'on site' ourselves to oversee the work and do what we can to help bring it up to the standard we would like and can afford - quotes awaited.....
Region: Carinthia/SpittalHi, workawayer We are a family with two children (Rosa 6, Flora 4) and two cats (Lola, Balu). We are living in a small town (16.000 inhabits) closed to a big lake and high mountains. The main reason to take a workaway is to meet people form other countries with other culture and to practice our english. Therefore we would like to have a good english speaker who want´s to stay for 1 or 2 months in spring. We life in a nice house with a big garden in the middle of the town.
Region: Midi PyreneesWe are a French / English couple living 60km south of Toulouse, in the department of Ariège (South-west France, Midi-Pyrenees Region). We are both actors with hectic scheduals during the the rest of the season so our large garden tends to get the better of us and the foliage runs wild! Having a bit more free time in the Summer, we could really use a hand with cutting some of it back. Our century old house needs some painting decorating too. We would really like to invite workawayers from the 4th to the 10th of August. It would be great if someone liked cooking too!
Region: Southern IrelandWe are an Irish family of one parent and 4 children, 3 girls aged 15, 16 and 22 and a boy aged 19. We live in beautiful West Cork, just outside Skibbereen. Generally we tend towards music and the creative arts and we love good food, cooking and baking. We also like the outdoors, camping, walking, kayaking, riding, etc. We have a large garden, a rabbit, two cats. The house is an old renovated farmhouse, there is also a summerhouse which would be offered as accommodation for the volunteers. I have a part-time job but mostly I am at home. I am willing to accept any able-bodied, willing help for the agreed number of hours in return for a welcoming family atmosphere, very good grub, and the relaxed lifestyle that is West Cork. If you like music we have piano, keyboard, drums, guitars, violins and can exchange some skills in that area as well as imparting a high standard of english if that's what you need to improve.
