We run a small, luxurious retreat for tourists in the Indian Himalayas. The Retreat is 80 Kms north of Shimla, the earstwhile summer capital of British India. Thanedhar is famous for apples, which were introduced by an American gentleman Mr. Samuel Evans Stokes way back in 1916. His family, like the rest of us, is still into apple cultivation. Thanedhar a charming little mountain village, with a small bazaar, which is 1 Km from the retreat . Thanedhar can be easily accessed from Shimla and Chandigarh by regular daily buses. The Retreat is situated in an apple orchard. We also grow cherries and other temperate fruits, but apple is our main crop. The property consists of six bedrooms, two suites, and two independent log cabins . Volunteers will essentially be on hand to interact with guests, who being mostly Indian families, love the opportunity to meet travellers from other countries. Activities include accompanying guests on orchard and forest walks, sitting around the nightly bonfire and sharing meal times. We are looking for volunteers who love the mountains and the outdoors. The volunteers will be entrusted with the duty of a co- host. We are specifically looking for helpers who feel comfortable engaging with guests, sitting for meals with them and showing them the beauty of the area while escorting them on walks. The volunteers will be provided independent accommodation in the family guest room and served meals in the dining room,along with other guests. Region: Inside Madidi National Park

Option 1. Torewa is an indigenous community of Quechua-Lecos indians that is located in the heart of Madidi National Park in Bolivia, surrounded by a million and a half hectares of protected Amazon rainforest. We offer a very unique type of community volunteering where you can stay from two weeks to two months in one of the largest protected Amazon regions in the world. Animal encounters here are surely beyond what may be experienced in other areas and reserves of smaller size. This is a unique possibility to travel deep inside the Amazon to one of it's largest and best preserved areas and volunteer in a true isolated indigenous community. surrounded by endles extyensions of untouched primary tropical Amazon rainfroest.There is no electricity, running water, or any services whatsoever. This is not the type of easy volunteering for people that search free lodging and food. This is an once in a lifetime nature experience that is waiting for only but a few. To come here you are asked to bring food supplies,and transportation is difficult since you need to either hire a shuttle boat or wait for some days for a boat to take you there. Speaking some spanish is required. Option 2. Working in a tour agency in the town of Rurrenabaque that offers tours to madidi national park.

Region: Orce, Granada Province, Andalucia

I live with my partner in beautiful rural Andalucia in the province of Granada. We have been in Spain since 2002 and now live a simple relaxed life and look forward to meeting new people. We own a holiday cave house and let it throughout the year to all nationalities. We live in a cortijo (farm house) which has been renovated and we have acquired the adjoining cortijo and are in the process of sympathetically restoring it with the aim of using it as another holiday property. We have 2 cats in the house and often there are others around the house and land.

Need help currently around homestead & garden - hedging, mulching garden beds, cleaning etc. so couple or strong, practical single welcome. Our station is situated on the edge of the famous Hay Plains between Griffith & Hay in Western NSW farming cotton, rice & Merino sheep. Very good clean accommodation offered in fully furnished house adjacent to homestead. We welcome visitors as part of our family. Meals with home grown food are enjoyed by helpers with our family. We work around your talents too so if you are a good painter we do painting or if you are a builder we can do maintenance. Pool & tennis court set in beautiful gardens - for your enjoyment. Helpers must speak English. Would especially like to host French travellers.

We are Ged and Karen, an English couple with a young daughter looking for a couple of able bodies and minds to help with a brand new project. Having lived around the world, from Moscow to Kuala Lumpur it is time to settle in one place for a while! We’ve had an amazing experience over the last year with workaways some of whom are I’m sure going to be friends for life! Our vision is to develop a mixed smallholding (pigs, sheep and poultry) with a small eco campsite. What we are starting with is a beautiful property (already renovated), three hectares (7 acres) of attached land, gorgeous views in the South of the Loire region and importantly a good stock of wine :) The property is a peaceful 4km bike ride from Neuvy-Saint-Sepulchre where you’ll find bars restaurants shops and a beautiful fishing lake. We are also very close to a bus route allowing access to the beautiful old towns of Aregnton-sur-Creuse (train station), Le Chatre and Chateauroux(train station). We are also located very close to the Brenne Nation Park, with its ‘thousand lakes’ and parkland it’s a nature lovers paradise.
