We need a person to help with some of the heavy work around the stables, such as loading/unloading hay, helping keep the grounds clean, and keeping an eye on the place when we have to go do errands and work on the internet and in my office in town.
In return for this, the person/people will be able to ride horses, swim and hike around the desert as well as learn about the American west and cowboys from the genuine article. My husband, now 82 but very much younger than his years physically and mentally, was a cowboy/construction worker and is a right-out-of-a-movie-best-outdoorsman-I know type of person. He still does shoe horses and life 100 pound bales of hay, but it is getting a little much for him. The lifting, not the horses.
We offer a camping site with an outdoor/enclosed, though/ cowboy shower. The person who wants to volunteer with us should like primitive living and not mind the heat. When we do our work, we do it early in the morning or late in the afternoon, but bush up or go swimming in the lake during the day. We also eat very well and the person can eat with us or cook their own food from the kitchen whenever they are hungry.

Rusty and Betty are the best!! I will always remember staying with them!
We spend an amazing time with Rusty, Betty, Irene and Dave at their cowboy camp. They are very interesting and kind people. The horses were cool too! 13 days were definitely too short, hope to see them again!
