Description
After a long search for a life in harmony with nature, away from the bustling city, we found ourselves in an untouched village on the outskirts of İzmit named Fethiye. Since 2016, our farm has been growing with agricultural production and related projects. We produce vegetables, fruits, microgreens, farm animals, preserves, pickles, eggs, honey, seedlings, saplings, and potted plants appropriate to organic agriculture regulations. We have also recently begun to accommodate paying customers looking to experience the organic farm life in a separate guest house.
Our main goal is to produce and sell these organic and sustainable products on local organic markets and on the internet so that we can support the simple and peaceful life that we have always dreamt of. We pride ourselves on working with locals and building a strong relationship with them. It would be our pleasure to see like-minded nature-loving and adaptable people join us and experienced the way we live :)Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

We work with locals, friends, and family members on the farm. Most of the local people have never lived in cities. So it’s a great opportunity to meet with these amazing people and have a glance of their pure, vivid life and their point of view of the world. It is also an amazing opportunity for them to meet you.
Since we also occasionally have paying guests, you will also have the chance to meet them and see the different lifestyles of other Turkish people. Turkey is still greatly unaware of the benefits and importance of organic agriculture. There is a very settled and conventional understanding of farming in the country and we are trying our best to spread awareness about organic and sustainable farming practices.
So you can witness what we are trying to do and get an idea of how it was and what it could possibly be in the future.Projets impliquant des enfants

We have lots of daily chores that are required to be done on our farm. Most of the time volunteers help us harvest our crops, take care of the livestock, or plant seeds and saplings in fields and greenhouses with our workers. We also have tasks for people who like childcare, painting, fixing, cleaning, etc.
We would never force anyone to do something that they don’t find appealing to them and we try to come up with different tasks for each day so you don't get bored by doing the same tasks over and over again. The only exception to this is animal care, which has to be done on a daily basis. If you tell us a bit about yourself and what you are hoping to gain from this experience, I am sure we will find the most convenient and comfortable way for you to help us out on the farm.
If you are fluent in English, you can also help teach our 5 year-old son some English.
Apart from that, we require that the volunteer quarters are kept clean and tidy. So we ask that volunteers do daily cleaning in the building and keep their living area clean all the time. I mean all the time :)Langues parlées

We have two bedrooms with two twin bunks and another with two single beds in it. The volunteers also share two living room spaces, a spacious balcony and patio, a single kitchen, and a single bathroom. We make use of electric heaters and fireplace to heat the place, so if you are planning to visit us in the winter or spring season be ready to learn how to use them :) and the place might feel cold to some. We expect volunteers to cook their own meals. Of course, we provide all the ingredients but meat, butter, chocolate, etc. So you'll be able to taste many of our organic fruits/vegetables and more.

There are plenty of amazing experiences helpers can have in their free time! Helpers can go for nature hikes, swim in any of the nearby lakes, go camping, partake in individual or group yoga and meditation sessions, go running, build a bonfire, chop firewood, bird-watch, sunbathe, garden, and of course visit the town of İzmit.
Our farm is only a 45-minute bus ride from the city center, and the bus passes in front of our farm five times a day. Helpers can also spend their weekends in İstanbul which is only two hours away from our village. In the summer season, it’s possible to wakeboard in Cabble Park which is only 45 minutes away from our farm by bus and you can also take a trip to the Black Sea to visit those beautiful beaches to swim. In the winter season, you can go to Kartepe which is two hours away for winter sports and activities.Informations complémentaires

This was our first workaway and it has set the bar very high.
The work varies from day to day and never gets too repetitive - a good mix of manual labour and more relaxed harvesting, planting, etc.
