Joseph and Samuel are two extraordinary young men; educated, always polite, lots of fun to be around and above all two very skilled, motivated and hard working helpers for any imaginable task. They act responsibly and bring lots of experience and good will. I am very grateful to have met them, wish them best of luck and success and above all extend an invitation to visit again - especially when my renovation project is finished!

Eve participated for two weeks in an archaeological excavation work in Loma Rica and was an excellent collaborator. She was always in a good mood and willing to do what was necessary and adapt to possibilities and requirements. It was hard work, many hours in the sun and on the ground, and Eva was always energetic. She also integrated very well with the rest of the group and was a link with the local participants. Her camaraderie and willingness to collaborate made the excavation an enriching experience for everyone.

Flora y Volodia fueron unos voluntarios geniales ! los dos llegaron por su cuenta al área de investigación y siempre se mostraron muy interesados y comprometidos con el trabajo. fue una tarea de mucho esfuerzo físico, entre una caminata de media hora para subir al cerro y luego todo el dia al sol, pero Flora y Volo siempre siguieron con buena onda, dispuestos a trabajar en todo lo que fuera necesario. Pasamos juntos unos dias muy lindos, todos en San José recordarán a Flora y Volo porque fueron simpáticos y se integraron muy bien con la comunidad. Los recomiendo a los otros anfitriones de la comunidad !

Que suerte tuvimos de tener a Katharina como uno de los voluntarios para el trabajo de excavación arqueológica! Ella siempre estuvo con la mejor disposición, con ganas de trabajar y ayudar en todo lo necesario tanto en la excavación como en nuestro campamento base. No era necesario pedir su ayuda ya que siempre estaba buscando por si sola resolver lo que fuera necesario. Se integró fácilmente con los demás voluntarios y estableció amistades tanto con sus compañeros como con los lugareños. Su actitud positiva contribuyó al buen ambiente del equipo!!!

Mish demonstrated great dedication and resilience by working long hours under the scorching sun. His willingness to go up the hill and his enthusiasm for learning about local history were remarkable. Of course, being an archeology student, I would expect a little more from him than from the others and he surely showed it. Misch was always helping with everything he needed, interested in knowing and learning, and interacting with the locals without language barriers. We spent some very nice days in Loma Rica and Mish was a very important part of making this group fantastic!!

Hannah stayed with us for weeks and was sooooo helpful. Hannah fed the animals for us, helped around the house with chores and spent lovely time with the kids. We loved having her stay and would recommend her to any host. Good luck on your travels Hannah 🤗

Marie and Moritz are great fun and full of life. They stayed with us for two weeks and attempted every task that we asked them. During their stay they painted our caravan, cleaned windows, cleaned floors cleaned out and organised our cupboards ( I highly recommend this chore for this couple, my cupboards have never been so organised) but did find digging in plants and pulling out weeds on our steep slopes challenging especially since Marie has had a recent knee operation. They are both great cooks and this is their strength. They love food and by the end of their stay were cooking most of our meals. We really enjoyed their company and wish them all the best in the future.

I had a wonderful experience at here, I would highly suggest anyone to volunteer there! As the area is a private reserve, you'll be hosted in a mini jungle environment, thus you'll spend most of your time outdoors among animals and vegetation. I found this amazing, but of course, it comes with some challenges (I wouldn't suggest it for someone with an extreme fear of insects/spiders haha). The daily work was highly organized and relatively diverse. The facilities need regular maintenance, and we always had small projects to work on. People with creative talents also found their way around by painting walls and similar tasks. The local team is extremely friendly and nice, everyone was understanding and helpful. I can only recommend staying here! :) Thanks for everything!

Omer stayed with us in Kerikeri for almost 2 weeks. He is very nice to have around, helpful and polite. Omer does all the jobs he is given with diligence and is willing to learn new skills. We thoroughly recommend Omer to other workaway hosts, and wish him well for his upcoming endeavours.

We really enjoyed our stay with Tabea and her family! They were very welcoming, considerate and made us feel right at home. Our tasks were very manageable and fun, and we never felt overwhelmed or like we were treated unfairly! If you enjoy spending time with animals and nature, with a lovely family on a beautiful island, we highly recommend them as a host :)

Nicole and Luke stayed one week but they could have stayed much more. We had a good time together, they always wanted to know what to do: ....and now what can I do?....they were very interested in everything and wanted to learn all they could. They were easy to eat, easy to be with, easy to adapt in every situation, they were very strong!!! We just want to wish them all the best and hope they'll come back to visite.

I spent a week with Nuri in his pretty house on the heights of Trabzon. I weeded and arranged the garden. Nuri is very attentive, whether at work or in everyday life. As said in other reference, he cooks divinely well, from breakfast to dinner. With Nuri, you can have really interesting discussions about many topics. The language problem is not a problem because mime and google translate are valuable tools :) Thank you again Nuri for hosting me, I can't wait to plant all the little seeds you gave me !!

We were very lucky to spend a month with these two wonderful people, we thoroughly enjoyed their company and their cooking skills. Some great laughs around the table and we sincerely hope to see them again. Work wise they both showed a great attitude and helped us get the garden ready for the summer, lots of gardening and painting, thank you so much for all your much needed help. Hope to see you again.

We were very lucky to meet Vic and Lan when they joined us in April 2024, they both have a really great work ethic and we couldn’t fault the quality of their work. They are also fascinating to talk to over dinner with lots of laughter, such great company. We highly recommend you snatch these two up given the opportunity.

Hey guys, I can tell you that Celi's host does exactly what it promises. I was with her for more than three weeks and think back fondly on that time. I learned so much from and with her. For example, I gained a lot more knowledge about food, gardening, paintings, meditation, yoga and traveling. We spent a lot of time with the dogs, which I learned to love. The location of the house is close to nature, very quiet and with beautiful views of the Pyrenees. Celi has given me the chance to broaden my horizons. I will miss the long unforgettable evenings (sometimes with a glass of wine) with good music and serenity. Celi is a open-minded and friendly person who is contagious with her good humor. Her food is very tasty. I can really recommend Celi's Host to you. Note to Celi: Thank you for everything we have experienced together and thank you for everything you have done for me! Lara

I volunteered at Karen’s for one month and it was the best! Karen is amazing and extremely funny, she made me feel like home. We went to amazing spots every weekend like chimborazo, Quito, baños etc. The students at the institute are very friendly and welcoming and want to learn English. I absolutely loved my stay and can only recommend staying with Karen. During my stay in Ambato i never felt unsafe or uncomfortable. 100% looking forward to seeing you again in Ambato. Linnea was easy to communicate with and a good company. She did good jobb and both the dog and the cat missing her a lot coz she always petted them a lot :) Silfri,the horse,probably miss the ridingtrips they had ,aswell.She became a familymember, and all the different people on the farm misses her just like we do.

As soon as I arrived at the farm, I instantly felt like I had arrived home, Marie Lawrence, Francis and lovely little Niko made me feel so welcomed, I loved helping with all the tasks, helping in the greenhouses, and the chickens. The few weeks there were exactly what I needed after a busy winter work season. I had a blast riding the quad and the go kart they had, and I loved learning about all the peppers and learning about the jerky and tasting all the sauces. Thank you for giving me the space to rest and recover after a busy 6 months. truly blessed to get the chance to meet this wonderful family.

Buckeye Hill is a wonderful place! We felt so welcomed and at home here. The location is tucked away in the beautiful redwood forest with easy access to Santa Cruz. We were given privacy and ample time to rest and recover from our thruhike. Throughout our stay, the work was very timely and organized. We both feel that the people at buckeye Hill are what makes it so great! Kind, warm hearted, and so very welcoming. The cute space we stayed in was perfect and we loved the outdoor kitchen. Santa Cruz may be our new favorite US town yet. A strong sense of community lives here. In the three weeks we stayed here we were invited to partake in countless community activities such as dances, compost club, movie nights, speeches, appreciation dinners, and many other events. In our experience, a caring/accepting community like this is rare in the US. We can't wait to come back, thank you all for such a sweet experience!
