Lovely home with a countryside atmosphere. Our stay at Anjana and Tara’s home has been a wonderful experience. Tara ensured our time was filled with various activities around the area. From enjoying the Sunset View Point and a Jungle Safari in the Community Forest, to a Safari in the National Park, playing table tennis in the front yard, or taking a relaxing bicycle ride with the two bikes, there was something for everyone. The presence of other volunteers also made our stay very interactive and enriching. In the mornings, there is a language class run by the volunteers from 7 to 8 o’clock. This is all about interacting with the children in English. After that, there is time for tea and breakfast. Then, Tara and Anjana leave for work, and the rest of the morning and afternoon are free for you to enjoy yourself and explore the surroundings. In the evening, there are garden chores to do, such as planting new grass, cutting grass to prepare meals for the three buffaloes, or weeding. This work takes about one to one and a half hours. You can also help prepare dinner. We all ate together, which created a real family atmosphere, and Tara often shared brain teasers during dinner time. Working days are Tuesday to Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off. So, there is plenty of time to explore, exchange experiences, and ponder Tara's brain teasers. Haha :) Tara is very well-connected and organized our arrival and departure seamlessly. He was also available almost all the time, offering suggestions for things to do and organizing them. Jacopo stayed with us for 2 weeks and helped with various tasks, which lifted a big weight from our shoulders, so we are very grateful. He is a very kind person and restored my faith in continuing this platform. Shiva (his 4 legged companion) got along very well with our dogs and cat. He didnt shy away from hard work, like digging a trench in mud and even grabbed the vacuum to clean the floors and helped cleaning. Sadly we coudnt spoil him with our cooking, because he was doing a 'detox' diet :-) Thank you Jacopo, we wish you many beautiful future workaway experiences and that you complete your studies to benefit not only your own health, but also others.

The host is very nice. I spend only two days here because i come here on summer very hot time. They make food for me and check evey time I'm ok (tankyou Ashwini) His friends also very good welcoming people It was great experience for me I recommended this host for everyone I

It's was my pleasure to host these two friends. They helped me enormous in the garden , trimming hedges, chopping wood, taking down trees, weeding, and on rainy days; claening jobs.They are hardworking and attentive. They are cheerful in communication. They are curious about local food and traditions, they like to taste everything. They can alsoo play wonderful guitar. Even though they don't have to work anymore, you can always ask them to give a hand, or they will ask you if you need some help. So I can only say excellent helpers and it was my pleasure to host them in my house.

Ha sido una experiencia maravillosa, muchas gracias Pete, Carolina y familia. Fue mi primera experiencia por la aplicación y la pasé genial, Pete me abrió las puertas de su hogar a mí, mi hermana y un amigo, los 3 nos sentimos muy cómodos en su casa, es muy bonita, tal y como esta en la descripción, disfrutamos mucho ayudando en las labores de la casa, compartimos unas comidas muy agradables, jugamos, aprendimos de la cultura francesa y también practicamos mucho inglés y francés. Gracias oor tanto, espero volver a verlos en algún momento de la vida.

I stayed at Allan's farm for two weeks and it was a great experience. He was kind from the first moment very open to listen and understand all points of view. I enjoyed the dinner talks, Yoga classes, meeting other volunteers and touring the beautiful Figueira da Foz. I highly recommend this experience. Big hugs!

Kaur is a really nice, easygoing person who can also work in many different tasks. We were very satisfied with him, clear recommend🙂

Thanks so much, Dakota, Drew, and Family for receiving us, we had a good time, we stayed for 2 months, and honestly we did not want to go. It was so nice, I learned so much about life and community. I had to most amazing time on GG's farm. She is one of the most caring and welcoming people I've ever met. Her home is beautiful and welcoming. I stayed in the house and helped with the farm chores, a bit of fixing, and fruit collecting. I wish I could have stayed longer!

Pieter is a genuine Afrikaner—tough, rough, smart, hard-working, knowledgeable, and fun (especially from Friday afternoon). He will give you a true country life experience in paradise. His wife, Anja, will help you become more disciplined (I learned how to consistently clean the sink after doing the dishes) and will occasionally surprise you with a genuine smile and meaningful conversation. I helped them a bit with some digging to pre-build a chicken coop and with nursery work, but I'd like to think I contributed beyond that with conversation. I hope so, anyway. Come and say hi on the French Riviera; I also need help on my property. P.S.: If you're lucky enough to be there and work at the nursery, please take care of the Passiflora plants. I stayed volunteer for two weeks in this amazing family and I do not even know how I can summarize everything that I lived. Even before arriving to the camp Jim and Alyssa were really making sure that everything was going well by texting me some more information and advices. The place is gorgeous (woods, lake, sunsets...) and everybody from this super cool family make you feel that you are really welcome. I have spend so many funny and unique moments in such a short amont of time. They surely are part of the kindest people you can meet. Asher, the young boy of the family, is an amazing and smart kid with who you are gonna spend great moments for sure. The work asked is faithful to the description. I can only recommend you to come here as this would be for sure a great chance for you. I hope I'll have the opportunity to cross their path again !

Helena has been at our school for two weeks. She is the first British volunteer to our school that introduced British accent to the student. We had some fun activities with both British and American accent naming the same item in English class. Outside of the campus, we've been to the school fair and played games together at each host family's home. We chat, make dumplings, and had a lot of fun while learning together. Both students and parents love her! We welcome her to come back anytime.

Rajiv was an amazing host! He made us feel right at home in Unawatuna and was very helpful on many fronts. The hostel is very nice and, even though we went during low season, we were able to enjoy surfing and getting to know many other travellers, volunteers and locals. The work was good and made it even easier to get to know other travellers and we had a lot of free time. It was a perfect first Workaway experience and we will miss it!! Highly, highly recommended.

Edoardo stayed two weeks with us and has been helping with various projects like: a glasshouse, fencing, chipping, cleaning, gardening and more. It was a pleassure to host him and learn more about Italy/Tuscany. He is a very kind and respectfull person, always up for a good laugh or deep conversation. Our baby boy got along well with him too. He is tidy, helpful and he baked foccacia for us. We recommend Edoardo to any host and wish him a lot of beautiful and special encounters on his travel adventure. Grande amore fratello 💚

Ellen stayed in our hostel more than three weeks. She is really good with learning things. Communication is grate with management. Very friendly with everyone. Thanks a lot !

me and my girlfriend stayed with this lovely family for 6 weeks and it was perfect! the accommodation was a lovely house that we had all for us self with everything that we needed. the work around the house was super fun and they had a lot of good and interesting jobs for us to do. the family is very sporty and always up for a game of pickle ball, ping pong or disk golf! we would love to come back to this lovely family again and recommend it very much!

Excellent man, kind and generous and above all available and ready to be useful. He helped us a lot especially in the garden. In addition he is very familiar and we had good conversations and exchanges. He was also brave and caring. You can trust him completely and consider him a member of the family. He is welcome when he wants to come back.

Ahoj! My time with Marta, Michal, and their 3 amazing children in Havlickova Borova was an absolute dream come true. Gathering wild herbs for making teas and fresh salads, mending clothes with needle and thread, baking, creating epic meals and playing with three vivacious youngsters brought me so much Joy. Michal’s piano playing and Marta and Michal’s singing brought tears to my eyes. I made shoes, played games and explored the countryside with daily walks at sunrise and sunset. I am so grateful for my experience and expanding my family to include them.

This was my first workaway stay and was such a great introduction to the experience! My stay here was short yet sweet. The cob house is a beautiful piece of art, and you can feel every ounce of love and intention that was poured into it during the building process. I came in May, during a particularly hot season, and the weather was pretty unfavorable for many tasks to be done. Nevertheless, Raghav and Ansh were extremely welcoming, and it was such a fun experience to stay in the village, practice some Hindi, and soak in the beautiful views on the farm. I definitely plan on returning in the colder months, or when they start their next building project. Thank you thank you for all of the beautiful memories, til next time! Also the WiFi is strong, so this could be a good opportunity for someone who works remotely :)
