Noah's visit was wonderful in every way. By some alignment of the stars, he showed up just as I needed his skill set to finish a project - Noah is a fabulously talented cabinetmaker and carpenter. Beyond the obvious joy of having someone take a huge load off your shoulders, he's a super nice guy and fun to be with. We had lots in common, great conversations, and maybe a bit too much wine. It was cool to have a peer-to-peer friendship with someone about the same age as my kids. I wish Noah all the best in everything, and hope our paths cross again.

Just concluded six fantastic weeks with Filippo, Monica, Nonna, and Dani. I very quickly felt apart of the family despite not knowing any Italian. Monica is a very respectful, generous, and easily-reached host. Nonna is the sweetest grandmother and kept me well fed abiding to my vegetarian needs. Dani is extremely cheerful and amazing to have around when he is in Rome. And Filippo! Before the Workaway, I worked with many kids Fili’s age and he is the most respectful, hilarious, and emotionally intelligent kids I have been around. He enjoys learning and getting to know his au pairs. He is also willing to try anything (besides onions), for instance, I taught him how to watercolor paint and we did so every day after. As for the location, it is great! In Rome, I was 6 stops from the Colosseum with a short 8 minute walk to the metro. In Villammare, I was just a 5 minute walk to the beach, or better with a bike! In Rome, there are also two beautiful parks within a 5 minute walk. The Workaway bedroom, both in Rome and Villammare are both very comfortable with nice balconies. The family is very respectful of your privacy and laundry was always available to use. Responsibilities and “work” time were fair and scheduled. “Working” with Fili was always fun with games, language practice, time at the park,….. I had plenty of time to do everything I wanted in Rome and even take weekend trips to Florence and Naples. I wanted to add the attention and flexibility exercised when I had a cold for a few days. The family respected that I needed time to rest and offered me medicine and dinner in bed. This is the kind of family you want to be apart of.

Rebecca was such a kind and supportive presence in our home. My son Teo warmed to her quickly, and she always offered to help with the day to day running of the house without needing to ask her. We really enjoyed hosting her! Best of luck on the rest of your travels :-)

nice guy, quiet and natural place. lovely dogs and friendly neighbour-family. most work in the garden or washing the dishes its better to have a car there... short way to the beaches and shops.

Gus was a wonderful example of the best of workaway. He took over a barn project with sparse directions and completed quicker and better than hoped. Kind to all, good company, and a great cook. Gus is always welcome to consider this his Canadian home.

uschi is a wonderful and very kindful woman!!! she is very polite and greatful. the place she build is such peaceful and full of art. i spend nearly one month here and enjoyed this time so much in this natural Environment. Thank you for the wonderful time in your little paradise :-*

Samuel was two weeks with us and it has been a great workawayer. We have been able to bring forward our veggies garden and have the soil ready for next round. In addition he supported some maintenance works. He was always happy to improve and all was according to our expectations. We loved our conversations and his amazing knowledge in all fields :). I am so happy and grateful for opportunity to spent two weeks with this amazing family. They were so kind and caring, I felt like I am part of their family all the time. I was lucky to meet the grandparents and visit their house as well, they are very lovely people. My main purpose of going to Italy was to learn italian and experience italian culture and traditions and I am so thankful for this family that they let me do that. I spent time playing with children, little bit helping around the house and in the weekends I went hiking, exploring towns nearby or visiting grandparents. The time flew really fast and again, I am grateful that I could meet this family. Also, I can confidently say, that italian food is the best. In these few weeks I have eaten the most delicious food in my entire life.

Fabian and Gina were awesome to host. If there were 6 stars it would still not be enough! These folks are super enthusiastic, friendly, funny, hard working and generally interested to learn EVERYTHING possible.Full of positive energy and a genuine joy to host. Welcome back anytime!

Jemma was a great help around the farm.She has a high attention to detail and is a very conscientious worker. She is a little shy to begin with but soon settles in to new surroundings. She has a sharp sense of humour and is great to host. Welcome back any time

Liebe Familie, Ich durfte euch im April eine Woche besuchen und Hamburg bei bestem Wetter kennenlernen. Die Aufgaben waren vor allem Wäsche machen und sich um die Küche kümmern. Das heißt Kochen, Einkaufen, Spülmaschine ein - und ausräumen und Küche ordentlich halten. Die Kinder haben sich immer gefreut, wenn man mit ihnen Gesellschaftsspiele gespielt hat. Ansonsten sind die Kinder sehr selbstständig und können eigentlich bei allem auch helfen und machen das auch. Widu, die Familienhündin, hat sich über jede Spazierrunde gefreut und war auch mit jeder Streicheleinheit zufrieden. Wenn man mit ihr spazieren geht, sollte man ein bisschen Erfahrung mitbringen. Constanze hat mir schöne Runde gezeigt und man kann auch zu Fuß echt schöne Ecken sehen. Mit der S -Bahn ist man in 30 Minuten in Hamburg und kann die Nachmittage genießen. Das Wochenende gehörte ganz mir und ich konnte super viel von Hamburg erkunden. Danke das ich euch besuchen durfte. Liebe Grüße aus Sachsen

Muiz was supposed to stay for two weeks but we got along so well and he stayed for two months. He is very empathetic, polite and respectful with good humor. Our days were joyous and full of laughter. He took into account the neighbors and made sure everyone was happy. He is a talented person with a lot of knowledge about many things with good English. My English improved with him and I got help with my computer a lot. He fixed some things in the house. His meals were exellent and tastful. We had a lot of fun cooking together. We had nice conversations about "Got und Die Welt". He was a great help for me in the household doing daily chores. He helped in his free hours too. He liked my neighbours dog Lupa and took her on walks. My family also liked him and he is always welcome back. I am very thankful that he stood here for two months instead of two weeks.

We loved having you, Damien, and working with you was like sunshine on a cloudy day! You were responsible, hard working, supporting, and we wish you the very best on your trip through Europe. No doubt you will enjoy it! For all other hosts: you want this guy as a volunteer ;)

I had a great stay in April 2024 at this place. Junko and Frank are very friendly and they explained me everything. I always felt well and fair treated with the amount of gardening work. In my free time I enjoyed using the swimming pool, the spa or the tennis court if there are no guest at the property. The kitchen and bathrooms are clean and well equipped, also with warm water. As well there is good Wifi and the rooms are quit comfortable. I general there is a great atmosphere in the perth hills, with beatiful sunsets, sometimes kangaroos in the garden and four small and very cute dogs. I even had the possibility to use the bbq and try to play piano. I wish you, Junko and Frank, all the best. I had an amazing time with you, in the skies and with the other workawayers. Zach was here at the lighthouse four weeks last November/December. He teamed up very well with the other volunteers and did a great job helping us with demolishing, reorganising and painting. Zach is a responsible and strong guy who keeps his calm and strived to do the tasks as good as possible. He is interested in photography and takes some very nice landscape photos. We were very happy with his effort and can recommend him to other hosts.

Unfortunately I was only able to spend 3 awesome weeks on the east coast! I can highly recommend this host for everyone: very healthy meals with ingredients from their own garden, a cozy cabin in the garden with the best view of sunrises over the bay and very varied work which is not too hard! In your freetime you'll have short distances to plenty of beautiful beaches and lakes! Dear Zenovia, Tyler and Metro, it was more than just a pleasure! I'm gonna miss the bike polo sessions!

Ama's hospitality was incredible. She made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. Priyanka, Ama's lovely helper, cooked us delicious home-cooked meals every day. We were inspired by Ama's vision for her tree-planting project. We were happy to help with the project and around the house. Everyone at Ama's place was so kind and loving. We're so grateful for the experience and wish to visit again soon! All the very best to Ama for her great work!
