Description
Hello, we are Sara and Dmytro (both in our 30s) after living in the city we decided to move in the countryside. We live in a tiny wooden house in a land of three hectare full of olive trees, with two dogs and three cats.
Our project was born from the idea of living in full respect of nature and the history of the place, promoting an alternative lifestyle.
Our land/ house is located in the territory of Ferla, next to the necropolis of Pantalica an area of great historical interest, natural and beautiful landscape, which presents one of the richest biodiversity of the Mediterranean.
We would like to create a place of rest and above all exchange of ideas and experiences.
We are located near various places of natural interest, 10 min from the rivers Anapo and Calcinara, about 40min from Siracusa and an hour from the seaside. In the surroundings it is possible to visit small and characteristic villages such as Palazzolo acreide,Buccheri, Cassaro. It is also possible to reach more touristic cities such as Noto, Modica, Ragusa.
IMPORTANT
Living in the countryside we are in close contact with insects especially in the hot period, we learn to live with them and respect them.
We try to be a zero waste project as possible, we can provide almost everything at km 0, it is important for us to avoid supermarket products full of packaging, we ask you to do the same.
We live with two dogs and three cats, so if you are allergic to them this is not the right place for you.

First of all we would like to learn from you, from your past experiences, compare ourselves and share our ideas together, also we will introduce you to the beauty of the place, the lifestyle and various typical foods (: we will spend time conversing, having fun, eating and drinking well!
Help
We are looking for someone who already has experience with harvesting or agricultural work and is genuinely interested in learning about olive oil and its production. It will be necessary to climb trees, use wooden ladders, and move the harvesting nets. Almost every day, the harvested olives will be taken to the mill.

Accommodation
We offer a tent of 16m2 where you can stay in couple, . There is an outdoor shower, compost toilet and outdoor kitchen (shared with the guest). Also we offer a caravan of 6m2 (the bed is 120cm) with compost toilet and outdoor shower. We will provide food for you, mostly vegetables and local products, we prefer if you can enjoy vegetarian diet.
We try to be a zero waste project, we respect the nature where we live. Please bring biodegradable and natural soap and shampoo and toothpaste as the shower water ends up in the soil and garden. If you don’t have them let us know before and we will get them to you (:

The nearest airport is Catania fontanarossa, there is only one bus per day to Ferla at 2:30 pm and every hour there are buses to
Siracusa where we can take you by car
In the free time feel free to do what you prefer like discover the cities or villages near us and take your time! We can go together to the river, go for a walk and discover some nice place around (:
