Description
My wife Dana and I Oliver live with 3 of our 4 kids, Lea(11), Ronja(6) and Alva(4), on an old farm, that we have bought in 2020, in a small village at the edge of the wester forest 25km outside Bonn. When we bought the farm it was in a rather poor condition and it took us about 2 years to renovate the house using alternative building materials as wood wool or clay as much as possible. The house we have more or less finished but the rest of the farm still needs same attention. The idea is to create a place where human can live in harmony with and from nature. This includes that we care for the land we work on and make sure we keep it healthy for next generations. Currently we have about 45 Galloway’s, 5 horses, 6 sheep, 1 dog, 2 cats, a docent chicken, 3 bee colonies and a small vegetable garden. We hope one day we will produce enough so that the farm feeds us and the people living with us but to get there it is still a long way.
When I was younger I travelled a lot. The biggest trip was a two years motorbike tour from Germany to New Zealand. But also spend some time in Africa as well as North- and South America. After I finished Uni my job as a project engineer for a foreign department involved a lot of traveling. And it is a totally different way of traveling as before. Nowadays I’m happy to spend my time off at home but I miss the contact to other travellers with new ideas and interesting discussions that helps you to see the world from a different angle. Therefore I would like to welcome you in our home and give back some of the hospitality I received all over the world.Types of help and learning opportunities
