Description
Hello Workawayers,
My name is Ibu Ria and I'm a mother of three daughters. For the past seven years, I've been working as a social activist, particularly focused on addressing the issues that children and teenagers in our area face. I reside in the rural area of Karangploso in Malang.
My family and I have ambitious goals for making our village a better place for kids. Unfortunately, our area is grappling with multiple problems, including a lack of awareness about the importance of education, early marriage leading to unprepared parents, and teenagers struggling with drug and smoking addiction. Our aim is to provide young people with fresh perspectives and ideas from people with diverse backgrounds so that they can build better futures.
As a Workawayer with us, you'll participate in our everyday activities, such as cooking, shopping, cleaning the house, and joining us in community events. We'll also take you on an adventure as a resident of Malang.
Our work is divided into two parts: school and village. We visit different schools daily to teach English and engage students in our campaign. In the evenings, we assist with community projects in the village.
Our social activities are self-funded through our travel business, "Good Holiday Indonesia." We'd love for you to also participate in the development of our company, whether as a social media influencer, web developer, or photographer.
We're excited to meet you and share our passion for helping young people in our community.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Travellers who participate in a cultural exchange with our family can expect free and fun trips:
1. Attend Traditional Dancing Class: Learn traditional dances and the history behind them.
2. Go around and pick Guava Fruit: Experience traditional farming methods and enjoy fresh, organic fruit.
3. Explore natural springs around our village: Learn about the significance of these natural resources to our community and enjoy their beauty.
4. Shop and cook traditional food: Visit a traditional market, learn about local ingredients, and cook traditional dishes with us.
5. Explore Rainbow Village: Learn about the history of this colorful and unique village and take photos to remember your experience.
6. Learn to make Batik: Learn about the traditional textile-making process and make your own Batik fabric to take home.
7. Learn Gamelan: Discover the traditional Javanese music and play the gamelan instruments.
Overall, travellers can benefit from a cultural exchange by gaining a deeper understanding of our culture, customs, and way of life, and developing a greater appreciation for diversity and inclusivity.Projects involving children
