Hiya! My name is Cara and I am from a small rural town in Alberta, Canada. At home, I find fulfilment in my work as a nurse. On my days off I can often be found hiking, camping, or spending time with horses. I also enjoy visiting the local garden centre (too often) and spending time caring for my collection of houseplants.
Here in New Zealand, I have spent the majority of my time working at a racing stable in Cambridge. I have been in New Zealand since October 2023 and am in love with the picturesque countryside and the open kindness of the people here.
I am adventurous and outdoorsy, always keen for the next new experience. I value my ability to make the best out of any situation. I have a strong work ethic and a cheerful can-do attitude. I enjoy physical work, spending time outdoors, and making meaningful connections with others.

I am house proud; happy to help with household chores, both indoors and outdoors. I am skilled at cleaning, organization/tidying, home improvement and basic cooking. I enjoy working outdoors and don't shy away from physically demanding work.
I have previous experience house sitting and pet sitting. I love animals and have taken care of cats, dogs, horses and sheep while pet sitting. I enjoy being a care taker.
I am a registered nurse, with a bachelor of science in nursing. This career has helped me develop excellent communication skills, critical thinking, and time management.
I am active and played varsity rugby throughout my time in university. I value fitness and wellness.
I have a variety of experience working with horses. In Canada, I worked at a barn where I was responsible for basic stable hand tasks, as well as leading trail rides. I spent multiple summers volunteering at a girls riding camp, teaching basic horsmanship and riding lessons. Here in NZ, I was employed as ground staff/groom at a racing stable. I am an experienced rider (western), having spent many hours in the saddle.
