Description
We are Florent and Astree, a young French couple living in the Ardèche Mountains. We have been renovating an old farm for over 3 years but still have some work to do on it. We also pick and transform apples and sweet chestnuts from our land (end of september to mid November).
In summer time (JUNE-JULY-AUGUST) we take care of a natural camping site at the river, with a little restaurant, it’s very quiet and friendly, and like 10 minutes from home. Unfortunately we cannot welcome any workawayers on that little camping site as we cannot afford an employee (it’s very small and our only income of the year). This is the law with this website regarding business es of all kinds, thanks a lot for understanding. Being very busy with this season, we don't spend time at home so cannot welcome helpers at home either.
At home we have a small guest room for one or two people, not very big but at least you have your privacy, and the rest of the house is very big we can share all this space with you, watching a film some evenings on our projector (cinema but at home !), and of course we will share meals all together too.
We ask for your help 5 hours a day and 5 days a week. You could also do longer days and have more free days to go and visit places if you prefer. In exchange of small but cosy accommodation and all the meals provided. 1 week minimum would be great for you to stay.
Tasks will be very various depending on what is going on at the time we welcome you : dry stone walls to re-build on our land, taking care of trees, gardening, feeding the chickens, cooking together, little house renovations (but we are approaching the end of it), picking apples and chestnuts ..
We have two cats living inside the house.
We usually take a break and go travelling between January and march (it might depend of our plans don’t hesitate to contact us anyways if you’d prefer this time of the year)
We both speak English as we spent 5 years in the UK where Flo was learning instrument making.
Hope to meet you soon in our beautiful mountains !Types of help and learning opportunities

You will be immersed in a very wild and preserved part of France in the mountains with beautiful lanscapes. You can go cycling, running, hiking, rock climbing, and all river sports also around here. In the summer we can bath in the beautiful river (fresh but absolutely pure from the mountain). We can speak French with you if you want to practice. We will cook nice meals for you and would love to also try your cooking (we love trying different types of cooking). We want you to feel like you’re home !
