    Description

    Hello lovely people,

In January 2021 we bought an old farm with a big lot of land in the south of Austria (the warmest part of Austria with lots of sunshine). I (Laura) live here together with Markus (my ex-partner & father of our daughter), my daughter Loumi (3.5yrs), our tenant Birgit, as well as our dog Venus, 6 cats, chickens and ducks. Our place is somewhat off-grid - we are growing our own veggies, producing lots of our own solar power and are completely water off-grid.

With huge thanks to around 40 different people who came to visit us through work away in 2023 alone we have finished a lot of our big renovation goals for this project (for now) and are now enjoying the fruits of our and all our helpers labor. We loved spending time with the many diverse and beautiful people that came to visit us.

    Staying at our place:
Our guests and work-awayers get to stay in either our Tiny House (6m2 bedroom) or the more spacious Camper Trailer that are parked on the land as well as a 5m diameter Bell Tent. We also have lots of space for parking your own RV's and Campervans too. In the past few years we have built communal areas such as outdoor kitchen, a big sanitary room with hot showers, toilets and a Sauna as well as a spacious fire place.

    Work:
We have a huge field that we slowly want to transform into a permaculture inspired, edible garden with lots of fruits and berries to pick while walking through.
Our intent is to make the entire exterior a beautiful home for humans and animals alike - means… creating a little oasis to relax in and planting lots of beautiful flowers for insects and fruit trees for us all, as well as simply clearing stuff and making the property more beautiful bit by bit.

In spring there is heaps of gardening and mostly planting prep to do to grow our precious vegetables. In fall it is harvest and preservation season. During Summer most of the work you will be helping with is making this place even more beautiful and tending to the regular tasks that need to be done to maintain this lot of land, such as weeding, mowing, tending to vegetables, etc.

Some special projects that we are looking to create this summer are:
    1) transforming one of the spaces we have into a big gym and playroom for children as well as grown up children :)
    2) creating a new plateau on the land (means bringing in lots of soil and an excavator to move the soil), then planting grass and finishing the fence around that area.
    3) potentially painting the main house with lime paint
    4) finishing the new chicken coop, moving chickens and ducks onto the field
    5) building a sand pit for the children
... and surely many more ideas for other projects will come up with time... usually we are never short of ideas for new fun or practical projects around here. Also we are always open to new innovative ideas of how to reduce maintenance work on the land and optimise all processes here :)

Apart from the building and land maintenance work our daughter is always excited to play and hang out with new visitors. She is curious, smart, knows a lot about nature (sometimes even more than I do haha), and open-minded to new ideas and people. So spending time with her could also be something you can help with. We also love for her to be exposed to and pick up on many different languages!

We also have a beautiful relationship with our dear neighbour Agnes who also has a big plot of land and absolutely loves gardening and growing her own veggies (she knows sooo much about gardening). We are considering (if you are interested in that) to also help out Agnes (she is doing everything by herself with two young children) and send some of our workaway guests over to her place to help with tasks. We love the idea of building strong neighbourhood collectives and supporting each other in this way.
    ____________________________________________________

We eat mostly vegan except for the eggs from our own chickens. We are a vegetarian space, so we ask visitors not to consume meat on the land - thank you for understanding.

We offer different work-trade options depending on what suits you and us best.
Some people like to work less and take care of their own food, some like to work more and have a meal included.
Let‘s chat and I will send you all the details of how staying with us can look like for you :) If we connect I will also send you a video of our place so you know what you can expect.

Since we have worked a lot around the land and project in the last few years, we are now tending to a much slower pace around here. We are looking for easy going people, who enjoy the absolute quiet and serene nature our place has to offer. People who enjoy their own company just as much as enjoying the occasional company of others.
We love to have a good time and living life together in a conscious way. You are welcome to enjoy some beer or wine, good music and bonfires together - just enjoy yourself in a calm and pleasant way to your surroundings.

We are looking forward to having you here!
    Much love,
    Laura, Markus & Loumi

We live close by a nature habitat and in a very quiet area in general. there's lots of nature around and space to breathe and relax. We speak german and english. We like deep talks more than superficial chatting and are into personal and spiritual development, meditation and healing ourselves (and the world).

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We are quite off grid, so there is not so much public transport. We can always arrange for you to get to a shop for groceries or whatever you need. We live in an area close to lots of spas and springs and also very close to the hungarian border, where you can also visit spas or get massages :). There is lots of nature and forests to explore around our home and you are always welcome to just enjoy the peace and quiet around our land, sit by the fire together at night, use our sauna, or just sit in the sun :)
Oh, as mentioned before we appreciate that you don't consume meat on our land (there's several reasons for that, if you want to know feel free to ask).
