Description
This is a permaculture farm dedicated to promoting the use of bamboo and creating a living environment in harmony with nature, located at the base of the mountains in the region of Chalatenango, El Salvador. We use bamboo to build small houses, furniture and other objects such as children's toys.
We cultivate 100% organic fruit, vegetables and ornamental plants. We also raise a few animals, such as chickens, fish and bees. The aim of the farm is not only to produce food, but above all to offer a living environment in harmony with nature, with a vision of self-sufficiency. We also want to offer the region a meeting place in the heart of nature for local cultural events. To this end, we have various spaces where local people can come to rest or meet, and we are happy to make the La Esquinita space available to local artists or groups for events.
As a family, we're always happy to see people enjoying the space we're trying to build!

We live in a rural region of El Salvador, and there's a lot to get to know in the area! By coming here, travelers have the opportunity to experience life in the Salvadoran countryside, especially the typical food. There's also beautiful mountain landscapes and it's cooler here than in the rest of the country.
As we're trying to open up the La Esquinita space for cultural events, it's also possible for people who want to visit us to help us with this and participate in welcoming people to our place for movie nights, meals or other events!Aide
What we're looking for from people who'd like to come and workaway with us is above all help with everyday life. Harvesting seasonal fruit and vegetables; tending the gardens (as all production is organic, there's work to be done!); feeding the chickens and collecting eggs; learning about various products such as cocoa or turmeric (depending on the season) ; etc.
Of course, if there are any helpers interested in working with bamboo, that's possible too! Just let us know and we'll do our best to decide what to do. It's a job we unfortunately no longer do on an ongoing basis, but all the materials are there!Langues parlées

For accommodation, we have rustic wooden chalets and camping facilities. Unfortunately, the cabins don't have their own toilets and showers, but the main house is always open. Our house kitchen is open to all, and of course the whole farm area, which covers around 2 hectares.
Food will be typically Salvadoran. We will prepare breakfast and lunch. For dinner (and sometimes lunch too), I will ask for help to cook. If anyone would like to prepare their own food, there's no problem - the kitchen will be available.Autres infos...
There are plenty of opportunities for excursions in the region. For example, the small town of Chalatenango is near, as well as La Palma. There are several emblematic mountains in the region that offer camping spaces, and also rivers.
We'll be happy to help you find what you're looking for!Informations complémentaires
