I spent a few days at Eduardo's place and had a blast teaching him English. We had so much fun chatting about all sorts of things. Eduardo is very smart and really eager to learn, which made it great to talk with him and see his progress in such a short time. Eduardo is really passionate about what he does, and his love for the mountains is contagious. Plus, he's an amazing photographer. I was blown away by the photos he’s taken with his drone of the snow-capped volcanoes; they’re absolutely stunning. You can see the Cayambe volcano from the terrace of the house, and it's super close, so it's perfect if you love climbing. His family is very nice, and they all love sports. And if you enjoy baking desserts like banana bread, carrot cake, etc., they’ll be in heaven. I had so much fun making desserts for everyone and watching them disappear in no time, haha. Eduardo and his family are very kind. Thank you Edu for the great time spent together. Highly recommended!!

Hello Workawayers, about my experience at the farm, I must say that it has been a very beautiful experience. Time passed very quickly, and honestly I would have felt comfortable staying longer, but it wasn't possible. About work, apart from the fixed weekly tasks, it is a place that allows you to develop your own projects. It is a place where you can put your skills, knowledge and creativity into practice freely. It doesn't matter if you prefer physical work, or the lighter one, the artistic one or the more technical one, there is space and freedom to carry out these ideas, and they will surely be heard. Livia and Manuel were excellent hosts and Girorgia is many things, a person with a big heart, enormous sensitivity and a lot of joy.

Wir haben Sophia bei ihrem einwöchigen Einsatz in unserem Sprachcamp für deutsche und spanische Jugendliche im Juni 2024 als engagierte und verantwortungsvolle Workawayerin kennengelernt. Sie ist kreativ, teamfähig und kann gut mit Jugendlichen umgehen. Ich konnte sie im Vorfeld kennenlernen, weil wir uns zum Klettern verabredeten. Wir harmonierten von Anfang an gut miteinander. Am ersten Tag half sie uns mit der Vorbereitung der Aktivitäten und brachte eigene Ideen ein. In die Aufgabe der Betreuung der spanischen Jugendlichen ist sie gut hineingewachsen, obwohl es eine Herausforderung ist, eine Gruppe von temperamentvollen spanischen Jugendlichen zu bändigen. Dank ihrer Spanischkenntnisse konnte sie sich mit den spanischsprachigen Teammitgliedern gut verständigen und sich mit ihnen abstimmen. Wir können Sophia uneingeschränkt empfehlen. ---- We got to know Sophia as a committed and responsible workawayer during her one-week placement at our language camp for young Germans and Spaniards in June 2024. She is creative, a team player and gets on well with young people. I was able to get to know her in advance because we arranged to go climbing together. We got on well right from the start. On the first day, she helped us prepare the activities and contributed her own ideas. She has grown well into the task of looking after the Spanish youngsters, although it is a challenge to tame a group of lively Spanish youngsters. Thanks to her knowledge of Spanish, she was able to communicate and coordinate well with the Spanish-speaking team members. We can recommend Sophia without reservation.

I had an amazing time at Daniele's. He hosted me and my dog Lulu for almost 2 weeks and everything was great. We had a private room and he allowed us to use everything in the house and garden. He has a nice home in the Sicilian nature surrounded by mountains from one side and the sea on the other side, just 5 min walk to the beach. Daniele was cooking delicious meals and he has been really helpfull and kind. We enjoyed watching movies together, going for trips or just relax in the garden. He even let me cut his hair 😄 I was helping with some easy chores around the house and garden with plenty free time to explore the island or just chill around. He grows vegetables, some fruit trees, many cactuses and exotic flowers. I enjoyed every day and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to meet Daniele, Giacomo, Pearl and turtle 🧑‍🦱🐕🐱🐢. I spent two weeks in Trento with this lovely family and I learned a lot: about life, about people, especially children, about the world and about myself. I am very grateful for their welcome. I also loved the dynamic town of Trento, surrounded by mountains. The locals are always smiling and willing to help. I got very attached to the children. Roberto is very curious, his eyes everywhere around him, he can spend an infinite amount of time observing a little thing. he reminded me of the joy of marveling at the little details of life around us. He's very affectionate, sometimes stubborn too. He wants to do what adults do, or at least he wants to be autonomous and active in life around him: open the door with the keys, press the stop button on the bus, and the crosswalk button... Nadia, the youngest, is also a little ray of sunshine. In just two weeks, I've been surprised by how much she's grown. She's finding it easier to stand on her own two legs, and that makes her extremely happy! And Edouardo the tallest, is looking for his place and needs to be approved and listened to. He wants to do everything himself and show that he can do it well. He's intelligent, very energetic, resourceful, has an overflowing imagination, and is also very talkative! I really enjoyed spending time with them! And I was happy to share these moments with the whole family, chatting, learning about their way of life, about local culture and tasting Italian dishes... I wish you a lot of happiness and a good installation in your new home. I hope we will have the opportunity to meet again and you are welcome in France when I return. Thank you very much! Lucile

Christina and Fien have been a tremendous help and wonderful company. They are always joyful and eager to enjoy good food and wine. They completed their tasks on time without ever complaining and were always available when needed. One of their major projects was repainting the entire apartment, which was quite challenging. They did an incredibly precise and meticulous job. We thoroughly enjoyed their company and now miss them dearly. I can only strongly recommend Christina and Fien; their work ethic and cheerful disposition make them a valuable addition to any team.

Tina is an amazing person. She gave me the opportunity to meet two wonderful places and a lot of nice people. The first six weeks I stayed at her parents. They were so nice and active. They love sharing things, they took me to a lot of beautiful places and made me lovely meals! They made me feel at home, we had the confidence to talk about everything and joke. They taught me various recipes and I made plenty of meals to them that they always enjoyed. They made sure I had a good time and that I could rest. By that time, I have been also taking care of Tina´s dogs, 3 generations of pretty, affectionate and energetic labradors. I loved them, I really enjoyed their company and taking them for walks. After that, I went to the Isle of Lewis with Tina to help her with Breagha´s puppies (also cleaning and tidying), best job ever. They were sooo cute! Tina´s house is amazing, she has an incredible view and the design is perfect. She has an extraordinary talent. Also, we used to go clean The Bunker when the guests were gone, another amazing place she made. Everything there was so calm and precious. Thank you so much for everything Tina! My first Workaway experience was perfect thanks to you! I hope we will see each other again! I am always using the necklace that you gave me as a gift.

Bruno è una di quelle anime che non si dimenticano, ci ha aiutate tanto e mi spiace che si sia fermato da noi poco tempo, gli auguriamo ogni bene e sappiamo che con tutte le cose che sa fare e sa dare di lui è un workaway raccomandatissimo!

3 weeks was not long enough! It was my first ever work away experience and by far the highlight of my trip. Kondwani’s mission and vision for Livingstonia is truly inspiring and it was such a pleasure to be a part of it, even for a short period of time. I spent just under 3 weeks living with Kondwani and his family. The team is incredibly hard working and I mainly assisted them with the elderly companionship project and farm work. I also got the chance to help with their menstrual education project, attend meetings and help in the office. It was a rare opportunity to experience a culture so different from my own and meet some incredible people. I really enjoyed holding two community centres for the elderly, it was a chance to see the bigger impact and hear what support they need most, whilst helping bring them a sense of community and hope. All of the elderly community members I met were absolute delights, so kind and with so much wisdom! My advice to future workawayers is, don’t hold back! Whatever your skill set, whatever your background, you have a place here, all you need is enthusiasm and an open mind. You will be rewarded by being part of a project which is working to uplift the local community and build sustainable change. Any help you can give is needed! In summary: The volunteering work: impactful and meaningful, 10/10. Livingstonia and the environment: beautiful, 10/10. The cultural exchange: 10/10. And the wonderful people who made the experience so special: 20/10. Thank you everyone for your kindness, patience and welcoming me into your community and family. You all showed me that Malawi really is the warm heart of Africa! Keep up the good work, I am excited to see where this place will be in the future.

Elisa won our hearts in no time at all. She is very thoughtful and hard-working and we are very grateful that she helps us so energetically with our daily work. Our animals were also delighted with her. Our dogs especially enjoyed the daily walks. She is a great cook and we had very pleasant conversations. She is absolutely reliable and tidy and we would be very happy to host her again soon! We wish her all the best and give you a big hug!

my experience was the best ever in my life i have learned a lot from them sara and fabio are the kindest and loveliest couple i have met in my life they are so sweet, intelligent, funny and cool i enjoyed working with them talking and live with them a lot even we had a deal for 1 month and end with 2 months with tears dropped when i left they are more than workaway host they are more than friends they are my family now if you able to live wild and you are responsible so dont think twice and live wild with sara and fabio 🤟🏼

I loved my time here with Kelly and the other volunteers! I was there for about 3 weeks and we had 4-6 hours per week of teaching English to adults and playing with the children. We also got to teach English at a local temple which was incredible! The workload will fluctuate depending on the time of year you are volunteering (I was there in May 2024) - it is very rewarding work! Lunch was also included on days we volunteered (thank you, Nan!). You will need to create a lesson with PowerPoints using past lessons for reference. This is fun as we would just go to a local café together or work in one of the (air conditioned!) classrooms. I loved teaching the students as they are all very motivated to learn :) Kelly is very generous, helpful & fun and was always inviting the volunteers to do activities/outings (sound baths, pools, hiking, lunch/dinner, Sky Bar). I enjoyed our conversations together as well. I had a great time and met amazing people who I am now travelling with! :) The accommodations were comfortable (bunk beds with A/C in the rooms, free laundry, 2 bathrooms/showers for us to use, a kitchen to cook in and fridge storage, Lotus's grocery store, food stands/night market, kabob shop & 7/11 are all within a quick walking distance as well as cute cafés (Paul Pete Café is my favourite - 15 second walk from the place!). I also found it very convenient how we lived in the school so "commuting" was a matter of just walking down the stairs haha. The school is about a 25 minute drive to Old Town and you can take the yellow bus for 20 baht. We also created a book of things to do in the area if you're looking to explore :) I would definitely recommend this position to anyone. Our Dear Fabian! Wow! So happy and grateful to know you! the time with you was a big inspiration and fun for us as you know! sharing life, work and pleasure was good times! The house and the most amazing nature view and around was increadible! We learn a lot about Guadaloupe, French and building houses and dreams! Thank you for everything!

Our time with Brendan and his family was simply incredible! From the very beginning, we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt like part of the family. The work was truly enjoyable, especially working with the two talented boys and seeing how quickly and well they picked up everything. The food was excellent – we were provided with three delicious meals every day, which kept us well-fed and energized. Brendan was also kind enough to take us into the city, allowing us to explore the area and gain many new experiences. We were really fortunate to have Brendan as our first Workaway host. The entire experience was overwhelmingly positive, and we highly recommend Brendan and his family to anyone! We wish the boys all the best – may Kylaidoscope be the next star in the pop-punk sky.

I had an excellent time with Hannah, Christoph, Harriet, Richard and the dogs. I could have spent weeks there. There was great communication, everything was very uncomplicated and simple, even in everyday life. The tasks were absolutely feasible and easy to do. My suggestions were incorporated and I saw myself as part of the family. There were no barriers right from the start and my needs were fully taken into account. I am very happy to have met this family. A very warm and lovely family. Thank you for your time!
