I have to say lucky, that Samantha decided this place. I could not be happier for all the help during the 3 week stay. And a friend of her also came the last week, that I guess made it even easier. Lots of good conversations around all kind of subjects, but most toward her interests for sports. Nice hikes to small mountain tops, just a pleasant visitor overall. Hope to see you again, soon:) you're always welcome

We were thrilled to have Victor as a volunteer at the shelter. He stayed for around two weeks with us. He was very dedicated to the dogs and life at the shelter. Victor connected very well with the dogs and wasn't afraid despite it being his first experience in a dog shelter. He fully immersed himself in the varying daily routine. He was absolutely fantastic with the dogs. Victor is a very hardworking man. He went up and beyond in many respects. In his free time, he effectively volunteered extra hours to work with the dogs to improve their chances of adoption. He happily worked with the dogs on socialisation, harness training and taking multiple dogs on long walks everyday to help with desensitisation. This was in addition to the normal cleaning and feeding routine. Victor was always happy to help and never complained about the work which can be hard at times. Victor was also easy to get along with for the other volunteers and brought a great energy to the group. It was a pleasure to have him volunteer at the shelter. He was a very interesting individual as well as being easy going. I can highly recommend him to everyone. Victor would always be welcome back at Monica's Animal Shelter. I would not hesitate to recommend him as a volunteer at other dog shelters and working with dogs. We would like to thank Victor very much indeed for all the hard work and extra work he did during his stay, especially with the dogs' socialisation. Hopefully, this will have helped some of the dogs to become much more adoptable. For this, I cannot thank you enough. We were sad to see you leave but wish you all the best on your future volunteering travels. Please remember that there is always a place for you as a volunteer at Monica's Animal Shelter. It was an excellent experience to have James and his kids with us! Even though sometimes all kids together (sometimes 5) were asking a lot of energy :) it was always somehow relaxing! James was always flexible and available! Anytime welcome back!

Durante el tiempo que estuvieron fue de mucho avance en nuestra huerta, nos apoyaron mucho con la niña con mucha dulzura cariño, nos cocinaron una recetas deliciosas y compartimos la mesa con grandes historias y anecdotas de sus viajes. Recomendados esperamos verles de nuevo por casa.

I came here at the beginning of November last year and I've spend here about a month. I've helped with various tasks like painting, cleaning and demolition. I cannot say a bad word about hosts, they were really clear about the tasks, helpful and hospitable. The island has stunning view on the ocean and Lofoten archipelago and it's one of the most unique places I have ever been. I can advise it to anyone who wants to rest from intense and stresfull city life. Thank you to Elena and Frode

El tiempo compartido con Alizée fue muy divertido, coincidió con otro Workawyer y fué muy interesante el intercambio de culturas, ayudaron en muchos proyetos que se estaban gestando. Valeria was such an amazing volunteer, she worked so hard for our rescue animals and didn’t complain once about the physical aspects of stable work. Her communication skills were brillant, she was eager to ask questions about the work and the donkeys in our care. She kept our volunteer house clean and showed respect to our property and project. I couldn’t recommend her more greatly she will be a wonderful addition to your project.

Mathilde was such a fun and friendly gall! She lights us with her positive energy. She enjoyed things she did, and we were very happy working with her <333 Her strong commitment in doing thing for us was truly impeccable. Ludovica was an amazing volunteer for us here at our animal sanctuary, she worked incredibly well independently and didn’t need to be shown the work routine more than once. She worked hard and found the physical aspect of volunteering for over 62 rescue equines easy. She worked really well as a group and really took care of our volunteer house and showed it great respect unlike many others. I couldn’t recommend Ludovica more strongly for your project she a fantastic volunteer. Her communication skills were great, she always wanted to ask me questions about the donkeys and the work.

We stayed one week at Chie and Iain's place and it was a real pleasure to help them in different tasks for general maintenance and gardening (and we were lucky to be here for the birth of the baby goats !). All the family welcomed us very nicely and we had good moments ! We were sad to say bye bye at them :( Iain is very clear in the job to be done with a dedicated period to do that (meaning you have free time to enjoy the lake, go for a ride by bike, relax, visit the surroundings,...). We had some good talks during the tea break ! The place is relaxing and peaceful. We stayed in the flat with our own kitchen and shower. Shops are available by bike or by train. It is easy to go in Kyoto by train. We will definitely like to come back to see them again ! Thanks again for the good experience !

This was my very first work away experience and I was very happy with it. The area is very peaceful and it was a wonderful place to recharge and get used to my time abroad here in Europe. You are in the middle of beautiful nature and it lets you relax and recharge in the quiet. The work is always varied and not too difficult, from pruning to cleaning the rooms for campers to cleaning up their lovely estate. You had the afternoon-evening off where you could unwind, or spend time with the other volunteers which I really enjoyed. Antonio is a very kind person and very responsive. He was very helpful in getting me to his estate and was even kind enough to give me a ride into Lisbon when I ended my stay with them. He also was keen on getting to know the volunteers, and genuinely cares for them. Everyone on the estate is wonderfully sweet and it was amazing getting to know the different people there. I couldn’t have asked for a better first experience on workaway! Highly recommend for recharging away from the cities and getting a chance to connect with nature and some amazing people.

My 2 kids and I stayed around 2 weeks with Julia in a tent and we had an wonferful time. I took care of their little one nearly everyday and eldest one when she was out of nursery. Julia was always ready to help for any request we had. We even joined several family events giving a great taste of the Sicilian culture and food. The location is amazing with several hikes around, the sea 200m from their home and the possibility to borrow their electric bike with trailer at any time.

If you can get Erwan as a helper Dont think about. A very multitasking, always willing, strong and smart guy. One of my best workawayer ever!!!

Franka ist ein Traum von Workaway. Flexibel, hilfreich, selbständig, nachfragent wenn es unklarheiten gab. Nett und Liebevoll. Sie hat sowohl im Garten wie im Haus mitgeholfen und mich nach eine OP geflegt. Ich hätte sie gerne für immer behalten.

Sebastian spent a nice moth in our family. He has been respectful and discrete and enjoyed the different opportunities offered by our territory like hiking through the 5 terre trails or visiting art cities in Tuscany. At home he helped with anything he was asked for and has always been clean and tidy. We hope to see him again one day!

Looking back at the two months we had at the Skadar lake with Matthieu, Daria and Leon we both are 100% sure that we had an all-in-all wonderful time. We could call this place and our comfortable, warm A-frame/christmastree-house home and enjoyed the sunny and rainy days at the Glamping. We learned a lot, developed carpenter skills and the tasks were always varying; it was a really nice mix of challenges and easier projects. Working time was flexible, we could work according to our own rhythm, it was freely apportionable. Having the company of Daria and Matthieu gave us every time lots of enjoyment and laughter. Both of them are awesome human beings who like to chat about all kind of topics; they're really hospitable, sociable and want the best for everybody. They've got big goals and the possibility to achieve whatever they wish. We're thankful for all the moments we shared (the weekend trips together!), all the beers we with one another and the trust they presented us. To leave felt harder than we thought and we recommend this workaway to all traveller people who enjoy living in a quiet surrounding (We stayed in off-season, probably that was a true bliss!).
