We have a small hobby farm with alpacas, chickens, and a kelpie situated just outside the village of The Channon. We are easy commuting distance from Byron Bay and Nimbin.We can pick you up from Byron, Ballina,Lismore or surrounding areas....We offer your own private room within a modern newly built house with meals for gardening and general help. We have enjoyed being a host to many travelers over the years and enjoy showing off our beautiful part of the world. We always give plenty of free time to explore the area. From Brisbane the easiest way to get here is by bus where we can pick you up from the bus station or from Sydney there is bus, train or plane.

Every night we all eat the evening meal together and we love to learn as much from our helper as they can learn from us. We also love to show off our beautiful area of National Parks and waterfalls on weekends.

Farm work is mainly gardening and looking after the animals which all is very easy. Our previous helpers have done between 16 to 20 hours per week which usually gives at least 3 full days off per week and part days off for the other days. We also love to show off our beautiful area of National Parks and waterfalls and Byron Bay is only a short bus trip away.

Ivy was an absolute delight. Ivy attended well to all tasks asked of her and was always willing to pitch in and help whenever needed. Ivy was a wonder around the house and always had a smile. We found Florence and Cromwell to be great helpers around our small farm. They are hard working and both extremely nice people. It was a pleasure to have them stay.

This volunteering was our first one in Australia so we were lucky finding this adorable couple. They were very kind and helpful with us, always willing to give a hand whenever is needed. We didn't work hard, we did very easy jobs, such as: cutting wood, walking the dog, some cleaning, etc, for just few hours.
