Hi 👋 , I’m Monique!
I was born in São Paulo, Brazil but it’s been near 12 years now that I have been living abroad (as Budapest, Miami, and now Utrecht), also I am an avid traveller (tho less nowadays), I visited around 40 countries so far.

I chose to make Netherlands my home, where I aim to build roots and integrate to grow old here and I am excited with the life I am building here! But I do need to get my Dutch on the right track :S

I am looking forward to my first experience with Workaway, but as reference - this is definitely not my first time travelling with this type of initiative, I understand that you also want to guarantee a safe and pleasant experience from your side, so know that I have previously stayed at a local family-stay in Argentina for over a month during my studies of Spanish and I have been hosted and I hosted several times through CouchSurfing a few years ago.

I will be happy to practice/ teach Portuguese, Spanish or English with you! And I am really interested to learn/ practice Dutch! I have formally studied till intermediate level of the language but I do lack practice.

• I am a great cook! I eat mostly vegetarian (with occasional fish), I love to cook international foods and I have some typical Brazilian recipes that I am always happy to share.
• I recently bought my own house and this made me more handy with small renovations (I can paint walls, even be somewhat artistic with it, hang things on walls, deep clean…). I also have now a garden, so I have been learning gardening skills. I am also great with interior design.
• I work in a big corporate within commercial finance, so I can be of help with your small business - setting up operational processes, budgeting and forecasting, helping out with your excel/power point needs…
• I can teach you about personal finance as well.
• I am experienced with dogs (and I love them), cats are cute too (but my preference is clear lol). I also love horses, sheep’s and cows (among others) so I’m also happy to learn more how to care for them.
• I speak fluently: Portuguese, Spanish and English.
