Description

Hi, my name is Marie Louise Gallagher. I am currently in Ireland doing some work trades, and hope to travel to a few other cities in Europe before heading home to Washington State.
I am most interested in workaways that include rich community, homesteading, permaculture farming, cooking, or hands on projects.

I enjoy baking, creating art of all mediums, bicycling, gardening, and playing music with friends. I have lived in many wonderful communal homes, and am great at sharing tight spaces, as well as meals, and skills with others!
I am motivated by community and living a life aligned with the values I hold. Each day, I do my best to embody peace, joy, safety, justice for all living beings, and a life aligned with practices that are most life-affirming for our earth and each other.
I am pursuing early elementary teaching, and hope to have my own outdoor preschool in the future.
I hope to learn more how others co-create community, raise their families, grow their food, steward land, or prioritize their crafts and hobbies.
I am taking 6 months or so away to travel, and I hope to land in a peaceful, beautiful, and welcoming space with meaningful work.

I have skills in housekeeping, cooking, gardening, childcare and many arts.
My experience in ecological stewardship, trail maintenance and native plant restoration are growing as I currently do a work trade to live in my town's arboretum.
I currently teach in elementary schools in my town, and have many experiences with nannying for young and older children. I am extremely passionate about children having abundant outdoor exploration, and play based educational time for our young friends.
I have experience stewarding gardens and managing farm stands. I hope to learn more about gardening, permaculture practices, and the experience of owning a small farm through a work trade.
I am also an enthusiastic vegetarian cook and baker, who loves to create and share meals with others.
Additionally, I pursue arts such as pottery, music, watercolor, fiber arts and printing, I would love to learn more about these from others, and share what I have learned.

I studied environmental justice in school focusing on local food sovereignty and energy democracy movements, and plan to continue to organize around those pursuits with others in my community.
