  • Description

Hi! I am an adventurous and hard working 24 year old in Bozeman, Montana. I recently graduated (May 2022) from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. I have a deep passion for the outdoors and a more sustainable lifestyle. During my time outside of school, I got outside to travel, explore, and learn about all the different ways to live life! I have learned that life is best lived close to nature and with respect for our Earth. I was very excited to join Workaway because I have dreams of living close to nature and really love all the different opportunities and ideas that Workaway offers. So far, I have had an awesome work exchange experience using Workaway and can't wait to continue that journey!

  • More details about your skills

In high school, I started my own landscaping business. I started off mowing lawns around my suburban neighborhood in Ohio then I got a pickup truck and started advertising in other neighborhoods. I quickly gained more and more customers and hired employees to help out with the growing workload. When I graduated high school, I sold the company and went to college. Through this process, I learned many skills such as hardscaping (building walls, patios, stairs, etc.), landscaping (planting trees, keeping property grounds clean, mulching, building drainage systems, and more), managing my time and creating a schedule for my employees, buying equipment, operating all different kinds of machinery, and more. Another skill of mine is that I am a blossoming woodworker. I built a small shed/cabin in my backyard when I was 15. I have converted an SUV into a camping area by removing the seats and building a flat area out of wood to put a sleeping pad on and built some shelving out of lumber for storage so I can sleep back there while traveling if needed. I have made many everyday household items out of lumber such as shoe racks, shelving, tables, and more. I have helped with five different workaway hosts now, and feel that I added value to their projects and learned a lot in the process as well! I have re-landscaped a host's river house in the Bitterroot Mountains of Montana, helped build an Earthship in the Mojave Desert, helped out at an off-grid homestead in Idaho, built horse fences at a horse ranch in Montana, and more. I included some pictures of this in my profile photo album. I am a hard worker with a diverse skillset, always willing and eager to learn more!

  • What else ...

Other info about me... as I mentioned I love being outdoors- I like to hike, camp, and I have recently gotten really into mountain biking. I enjoy fishing and I love being on the water whether it's sailing, fishing, or swimming, count me in! I also really love music whether it is folk, country, blues, bluegrass, I am very open-minded and open to hearing all different kinds of music. I am currently learning to play the guitar, and love practicing/experimenting with new songs. I regularly meditate and practice yoga and I feel that nature is the best place to meditate. Another thing about me to note- I have a truck with a small camper shell on the back and I am always happy to sleep in my camper while participating in Workaway experiences. I think the idea behind workaway is awesome and I look forward to all the new experiences and cultural exchanges to come! I hope I can help you in some way!
