Hi, my name is Inara and I'm from the United States! I'm taking a gap year between high school and university because, as much as I love learning (everything from history and literature to math and science) I needed a break from the school environment. And I really want to expand my travel experience, as well as being able to spend time on different writing, art, and volunteering projects. So far it's been amazing :)

Some things I like to do with my time include reading books and poetry, writing, sketching, guitar, helping cook or fix things around the house, going to concerts with my friends, and working at the local market!

I took French classes for 4 years, but book learning is obviously not as helpful as real-life experience so while I can read and understand some French and know some basic phrases, I would love more practice with it!! I'm also just starting to learn Italian and Spanish.

My parents gave me all the good skills - I can clean, cook, do laundry, and I know how to use a hammer, paintbrush, wrench, and other tools--my house is very old so I've helped with a lot of repairs, carpentry, and gardening. Also, I can drive manual and automatic, I have a clean record, and I have four siblings and a cat so lots of experience with younger children and pets :)

I've worked at a small bakery shop for two years now as a cashier so I have professional customer service experience! I've also worked as a babysitter and a dishwasher, and recently I volunteered in a hostel in Panama so I have reception experience as well.

I always love learning new skills, and I've been told I have a good work ethic and communicate well with people older than myself - don't hesitate to ask me about anything else!
