Hi! My name is Lauren, and I am excited to start back up with some solo international travel this year after 7 years state side. I am from the US, and spend most of my free time hiking, camping, climbing, road tripping, doing yoga, or hanging out by some body of water…usually a river.

I love meeting new people and gaining new perspectives on life. I love animals, and equate a good cuddle to the best therapy one can ask for. I’m currently going through a bit of transition in my life after ending a decade-long career, and look forward to all the highs and lows that goes hand in hand with traveling. I’m excited to immerse myself in local culture, meet like-minded souls, grow new skills, and reconnect with myself :)

I have worked in childcare (nanny, household manager, infant care specialist, au pair) for the past 10 years. Skills I have gained throughout my career include child care, lesson planning, meal prep, organization, scheduling, CPR, communication, patience, and collaborating with child’s care team/household staff. Some of my positions were live-in, which required clear and concise communication between host families and I, being courteous of house rules/other occupants, and maintaining professional boundaries.

Outside of childcare, I have worked in interior design, outdoor recreation/tourism, and retail sales. My interior design role was 75% admin work, 25% creative design work. It required a lot of correspondence between myself, clients, and sales reps, as well as organization, event planning, scheduling, client intake, color consulting, and design board creation. I really enjoyed this position and the creative outlet it gave me, I was able to meet some really cool people and get involved on some incredible projects! I have worked in a couple different positions in outdoor tourism, in the fishing, ski, and childcare realms. Each position required me to be adaptable, quick on my feet, and maintain a high level of customer service. Safety was always of the utmost priority, especially when working with children. Finally, my position in retail sales required me to be knowledgeable on products sold (I worked in an outdoor goods store), provide exemplary customer service, interpersonal skills, and membership sales.

Previous work experience aside, I am a quick learner, hard worker, and am always keen to add new skills to my repertoire! I am also a hobby DIYer, and love fixing things up around the house. My partner is a woodworker and we’ve done some fun furniture flips that we’ve both sold and kept. We are avid gardeners, and often have very fruitful harvests of veggies, fruits, and flowers. I also enjoy photography, writing, and painting!

I love a good puzzle or card game, and can be a bit of a homebody sometimes. I don’t drink or smoke and try to live a pretty healthy lifestyle. The mountains are my happy place :)
