Description
Hello! We are Fede & Cristina :)

We are on a journey together, to discover new places. We want to explore, meet people, learn cultures, taste new flavours and sounds.

We just arrived in Australia looking for new adventures once again. After living between Spain and Italy for a few years, we decided it was time to jump on a plane and embark onto the unknown, that is such a great feeling!

We are a very curious, active and open minded couple, looking for places where we can help, grow and share. Most likely close to animals, bush, forest, beach or inspiring human beings.

Cristina is... 35 years old, originally from Italy. I left my country with a degree in fashion design at the age of 23 to travel to Australia for 2 years, to learn english and trully start my life. During this time I did Workaway in a farm looking after animals and working in the veggies garden. Then I've been travelling aroun New Zealand and Asia before going back to Europe. I lived in Barcelona (Spain) for a while, where I met Fede and from there we decided to travel around New Zealand for a year doing workaway. We went back to Europe, where we lived for 6 years and where I created my business: I became a soap designer and I started selling my soaps online, trying to help others to get rid of plastic, starting from the bathroom. I am really trying my best to live a life with a small impact on this planet, even If I just took three flights to come to Australia.

About Fede... 35 years old, born in Uruguay, moved to Europe at very young age where I had the oportunity to learn a completely different culture. Studied IT degree but soon after discovered a passion for baking and cooking. Worked in computer development but also in bakeries and pizzerias. Living in Barcelona were I fortunately met Cristina, inspired me to travel, so I left home, again, leaving one life behind to discover new opportunities ahead.

Both of us are fluent in Enligsh, Italian and Spanish.
It's easy for us to get used to new enviroments, adapt and approach new challenges.

We both love cooking any kind of dishes, including fresh pasta, home baked pizzas, bread and cakes.
We are vegetarian but not fuzzy about other's eating choices, so we don't mind sharing a table with you if you want to have meat for dinner :P

I wish I could give this couple 10 stars! They were the very best help we had all season. The most amazing workers who took any job allocated seriously and completed with such professionalism. And so funny, loved their sense of humour, always had us laughing. The best company! We consider them family now!

We spent 5 very pleasant weeks with the host a remote slice of Paradise hidden in the Sounds. We got there by car after a long drive on an ungravel and windy road. Lynley received us with a smile and cookies.
The accomodation was a room close to the main house. Toilets and showers were shared with the other workawayers and the guests, few steps… read more away from the room. Same for the kitchen/lounge that were in another building, just few more steps away.
The job was done during the morning and consisted of housekeeping duties, so the rooms were ready for arriving guests during the day. The rest of the day was free for us. There is plenty of fun activities to do while off duty, like kayaks, paddleboards, walks, hikes, swimming, the hot spa, and of course relax in a beautiful enviroment with amazing landscapes. When raining, there are other options, indoor, like playing lots of board/card games, reading by the fire or whatever you are into. Have in mind the WiFi is a bit limited, so if you like to watch movies or shows, it is reccommended that you get those on your laptop somewhere else beforehand. Anyway, they also got a huge library of DVD movies in the place and a portable player.
You have to provide your own food and it's better to do your groceries beforehand and arrive with a good stock of goodies, because there are no shops nearby. Anyway, the basics like coffee, tea, flour, rice, spices are provided and found in the common kitchen. Also, every now and then someone goes to town and can buy for you stuff you need. We ended up having a lot of food, because we are too precautious and because sometimes the guests leaving were giving away some food.
Lynley and Mike are fun, very generous, lovely people. We wish we could have spent a bit more time together. We shared easter with them and their friend Cathy, we had pancakes and great talks. Mike is number one even without trying, he's genuinely good at anything, if you are lucky enough he will teach you one thing or two. We also met Dylan, another family friend, he's a great cook and very cool guy. Lynley is very sweet and the way she speaks makes you feel at ease everytime. She's also a great baker, with a very contagious laugh. Overall we felt at home and was difficult to leave these amazing people behind to continue our adventure. Hopefully we can visit them back sometime.

We stayed with Reg and Princess for 4 weeks of happiness.
The lodge is in a remote beautiful place surrounded by many cool places to visit and where you can enjoy nature at its most. Reg's house is big, comfortable, quiet and welcoming.
