Description
I love spending time in nature, whether that be backpacking, canoeing, gardening, or simply relaxing in the sun. I'm a student at the University of Washington in Seattle studying landscape architecture and environmental science. I'm originally from a small forested island close to Seattle called Vashon Island. I'm drawn to Workaway because I believe our food systems and perception of nature in the US are incredibly flawed as their constantly being used to degrade the environment. Finding ways to foster community building through land stewardship is very exciting to me and I hope I can find inspiration for myself and for future landscape architecture projects that I work on through my travels.

I enjoy hard work and time spent with my hands in the ground. I have experience volunteering at / working for a local farm, a food bank, a land restoration organization, and a children's nature school. When I'm not in school, I'm working part time leading outdoor adventure trips and figure modeling for life drawing sessions. I would consider myself to be open-minded, kindhearted, adventurous, and down to earth.
My major is largely focused on storytelling through graphic representation. This summer I'm hoping to work on some sort of personal project about the sustainability / land stewardship / community building practices taking place at each place I'm staying at. The goal is to have the project published in my university's landscape architecture journal and/or as a piece for my portfolio.Age

They brought a lot of laughter and warm energy to our farm and all the kids loved them.
Communication was easy and productive and their work was both thorough and independent.
